Sarah's Rural Library Fund raises money for The Rural Libraries organisation which operates in Northern Peru. This organisation provides books and library facilities based in people's homes for the rural communities of the high Andes in the state of Cajamarca. The money raised is for the expenses of the volunteer librarians, the administration of the organisation and the publication of books.

The charity makes grants to published authors who need extra funding while working on a book.

The Group promotes and encourages the general education of the public in the study of ceramics, primarily of the Middle Ages. The Group holds meetings, conferences, publishes a journal and disseminates information to: the membership, the general public, other archaeologists, persons in allied fields and communicates the professional requirements of the membership to public and private bodies.

We hold public repair events in Winchester to repair items, demonstrate skills and provide information then and at ad hoc events to promote repair and reduction of waste as well as providing advice on our experiences setting up and running of a Repair Cafe to others wishing to set up their own. We are also seeking to provide of a Library of Things to enable people to carry out their own repairs.

Funds are raised to enable The Friends to make donations to the School Governor Fund and to the general school fund to purchase additional items outside the school budget, such as staging, blinds, refurbish school library etc

To promote an interest in the history of Saddleworth; facilitate research into and document its history; maintain a publicly accessible archive and library relating to the history of Saddleworth.

We maintain a local and family history collection of objects, books, photographs and local history archive material from which we provide a service to the public via attendance at the local library, at events and fairs. We encourage interest in conserving and preserving the historical built environment and in improvements to the quality of new planning and buildings.

FIELDWORK LECTURES PUBLICATIONS Project Groups

Holds meetings and publishes research in the Charles Lamb Bulletin. Makes available to the public (at Guildhall Library in the City of London and the Guildhall Art Gallery) a collection of books, manuscripts and other material related to Lamb and his circle. Makes grants to universities and other bodies for bursaries for students attending conferences relating to Lamb's works and period.
