READY STEADY READ IS A CHILDREN'S READING WORKING ACROSS HULL AND EAST RIDING PRIMARY SCHOOLS. WE AIM TO HELP IMPROVE CHILDREN?S LITERACY, BOOST READING AGES AND DEVELOP A LIFELONG LOVE OF READING. WE CURRENTLY SUPPORT CHILDREN IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN HULL PROVIDING READING HELPERS, READING SPACES, BOOKS AND DEDICATED ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE FALLING BEHIND WITH THEIR READING.

The provision of a lending library in Stoneleigh Surrey. The charity is responsible for the day to day running of the library using volunteers. The charity also runs and provides a community room for the use of other groups and local organisations and arranges other activities during the week for children and adults of a recreational social and educational nature.

Health: HIV/Aids teaching. Health education. Production of HIV/Aids awareness leaflets. Training: English & literacy education. Seminars for community school teachers. Project funding for small local projects in & around Ndola.

We help to build the collection, and conserve and display items in the Sierra Leone National Railway Collection. We promote and organise meetings, lectures and events to foster interest in the SLNRM. We edit and publish of data, information, reproductions, books, periodicals, papers and pamphlets relating to the museum. We encourage the study of railway transport in Sierra Leone and its history.

The Friends of The School continued their many fund raising activities through out the year, enabling the school to have several WoW days which included an Astrodome day, mothers day project and a pantomime to form part of the literacy development.

The mission of the Pan African Book Foundation, is to enhance the quality and standard of education in African rural schools through the provision of books and to promote works of African origin. We aim to collect under one roof all publications written by African people, which would include works written by people of African origin and also others.To promote and celebrate the works of Africa.

We fund scholarships, produce educational media, donate books and equipment to schools and colleges, and make donations to other charities involved in education, emergency disaster relief and poverty.

Lead teachers of Literacy in each school receiving training from an expert consultant on the teaching of grammar (June 2015).

Dira's activities involve providing funding, through the means of individual sponsorships, grants, bursaries or otherwise, to allow children in and from Tanzania to have access to and continue their education at primary, secondary or university level and providing text books and other equipment, travel and any other necessities to assist children in receiving an education.

Provision of Library Services

We record on audio equipment extracts from local newspapers. Copies are sent to those with sight impairment in this district, i.e. those with difficulties in reading those newspapers. We also send an audio magazine to these listeners. This contains miscellaneous items of interest.
