Arts Charities That specialise in Literature

To educate and promote the Pentrich Rising of 1817. To commemorate the bi-centenary in 2017. To continue promoting the cause with exhibitions, talks, books and paintings. To produce educational materials for schools.

Environment, conservation and heritage work is undertaken by the trustees and volunteers at and for the Welsh Harp/Brent Reservoir in North West London. Grants are applied for to fund these activities and contractors employed for some of the larger or more technical tasks required in the conservation of the Reservoir. Literature is published to support the site's importance wherever possible.

We use raised funds and received donations to send by box Children's books and toys (also donated) to schools in remote areas of the Philippines to advance children's education. We help pay medical bills, send students to school and university, we help to equip schools and churches with various needed items in the Philippines. We serve hot tea, coffee and sandwiches to the homeless in London.

School PTA. We have regular school discos, table top sales, summer fairs, Christmas parties and other events throughout the year to fund raise for Buxton Infant School; a small school of around 180 pupils. This income allows the school to organise extra events for the pupils, such as an annual Arts week; take the children on outings; provide and repair playground equipment and library resources

Maintaining Herd Book

THE EMPHASIS IS ON HELPING THE M.E. INDIVIDUAL VIA CHRISTIAN PRAYER, ANECDOTAL TREATMENT ADVICE, VISITS AND POINTING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR BENEFIT CLAIMS. WE ALSO EDUCATE MEDICAL STAFF BY DISTRIBUTING UP-TO-DATE LITERATURE ON BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND TREATMENT GUIDELINES FROM A BIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE FROM LEADING WORLD M.E. EXPERTS.

Loan of fictional and non fictional books, regular pre-school reading activity, access to PC and internet services, WiFi, photocopying, scanning & laminating. Loan of jigsaws. Family History Service on request. Chess Club.

A) To advance the Christian religion in London and the surrounding area for the benefit of the public through:i) Holding of prayer meetings, ii) Holding meetings of public celebration of Christian Witness and Christian festivals, and iii) Producing and/or distributing literature on teaching of Christ to enlighten others about the Christian religionB) To carry out missionary and outreach work

PROMOTING AWARENESS OF THE LIFE AND WORK OF ALKAN (1813-1888) THROUGH CONCERTS, PUBLICATIONS AND RESEARCH.

LSVTM supports the translation and production of Christian literature, audio and visuals in the Serbian language for distribution in Serbia and wherever the Serbian language is spoken throughout the world.

Gives grants to individual students & apprentices residing in named villages/parishes, under 25 years old, for books, equipment, tools & fees.

Relieves the visually impaired or those labouring under some permanent or temporary incapacity or disability which makes reading a strain by the provision of a range of materials in alternative formats and media. These currently comprise weekly local news and a magazine issued three times per annum in digital media format.

Research into local history in the Neston and Burton areas in Wirral. Publish books on local history from this research. Hold lectures for our members and the public and arrange outings for our members. Support local history activities in local libraries and civic centres.

The Charity distributes funds from Charity of Henry Forster (United Charities) and, since 1996, the Rutland Society of Industry as small grants to students/apprentices living in the County of Rutland. These grants are awarded annually towards the purchase of books and equipment.The Charity distributes funds from the Charities of John Green and Mary Davie to those in need in Oakham.

Providing ready access to educational resources concerning the climate and ecological emergency. Organising, facilitating and promoting workshops. Facilitating, promoting and connecting through the creation of environmentally inspired art, music and literature. Disseminating examples of local good practice. Facilitating climate coaching. Bringing together local climate concerned groups.

Financial support to buy mosquito nets, sanitizers, hearing aid, incontinent pads, cataract operations, medicines, vaccines, etc, the purchase of study materials, equipment or library facilities, school lunches, bags, sanitary pads, uniforms and provision of public educational programmes, etc.Relief for those in need due to old age, disability, ill-health, or victims of natural disasters.

TALKING NEWSPAPER & MAGAZINE

Founded in 1914, to further the study of local history and publish books in which such knowledge would be available for all comers for all time. Monthly meetings held during the winter season with speakers. Also visits and guided tours locally and further afield. Free guided walks around the local Walthamstow area during the summer.

Raising funds to maintain a village hall in Prenteg Gwynedd for the use of the local population. Regular activities include book club, film club and afternoon club for local residents. Regular concerts, lectures etc. Also private hire by local organisations e.g. Ramblers, Glaslyn Ospreys, Gywnedd council, Bardsey Bird Observatory, and by individuals for parties, funeral teas, weddings.

Arranging events and trips to various places of horticultural or botanical interest.Provision of Diploma Prizes.Arranging and promoting of the Annual Dinner and AGM Soiree.Managing the Award Scheme, publicising the availability of these funds and making awards.Publishing suitable articles in a Journal and disseminating information using the website of the Kew Guild.

Record & copy extracts from the weekly local paper, monthly area magazine and occasional extra articles for the blind and partially sighted plus distribute to the blind, partially sighted & other handicapped.

The charity has continued to raise funds through a series of concerts, recitals, poetry readings and grant applications which are used to increase footfall and provide additional facilities for the Rydings complex. This has enabled us to extend our activities into the town and increase awareness and use of the building and its facilities

The Charity is related to WCTA Ltd (which exists to enable pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham). The Chantry Book enables relatives of the departed to ensure that prayers are offered for their loved ones at the Shrine in perpetuity.
