GDCL provides a venue for local learning/leisure activity with a thriving library at its heart to maintain/develop the pre-existing LA library service within our community. TO TACKLE LONELINESS AMONG OLD PEOPLE/PATIENTS IN THE CARE HOMES/HOSPITAL; TO RELIEVE POVERTY BY PROVIDING CARE FOR THE NEEDY AND BY COOPERATION WITH OTHERS TO OFFER HELP TO VICTIMS OF WAR AND OTHER MISFORTUNE.

The Trust manages The Cathodeon Centre, Linton, which is a community building. Part is leased by Cambs County Council for Library Services and a Child & Family Centre.Remainder of the Centre is used by various local groups. Building is owned by Linton Parish Council.

The Association seeks to promote handwriting skills as a vital component of literacy by organising workshops, lectures, courses and conferences and by publishing an annual Journal and a series of booklets with advice to parents, teachers and other practitioners on good practice in acquiring handwriting skills and remediating problems.

The principal objective of the Ghana Education Project is the advancement of education of children in the Nkwanta Region of North East Ghana through building development and the provision of books, equipment and teaching resources and supplies. GEP also initiates and supports in-service teacher training and community adult education programmes in Nkwanta.

Helmsley Community Library provides library services including books, audio books, DVD's and computers based in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. The library also hosts and organises learning activities, workshops and events for the community.

We promote psychosocial thinking in order to better understand and intervene in contemporary problems. To this end we hold bi-annual conferences that are open to the public; we organise and promote lectures, workshops and seminars that are open to the public. Many are free of charge. In addition we are responsible for the production of The Journal of Psychosocial Studies.

OIBI is a pioneering research academy advancing the scholarly study of Islam in the UK. Through a range of educational initiatives, including public seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences as well as publications, the institute disseminates cutting-edge findings and objective investigations into British Islam. These academic activities also provide posts for graduates and other scholars. .

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN RAWDON, WEST YORKSHIRE , BY THE PROVISION OF A LENDING LIBRARY.TO BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF RAWDON, WEST YORKSHIRE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR RESIDENTS.

The charity helps everyone in need of spiritual, emotional and psychological support thought the provision of Christian counselling through the Bible. It provides spiritual and moral support to all members and the general public. The church is also fully involved with the production and distribution of pamphlets and journals based on good morals and responsibilities to the community.

Expenditure is used to assist school libraries and to fund extended hours at the Ascot Durning Library. Additional library hours funded at ?20,000 per annum.

The objective of the Bouncing Books Foundation is to advance education of school pupils, promote reading skills and provide academic schoolbooks and other educational equipment to disadvantaged children in Tanzania through the provision of library facilities.

The Throneroom advance the Christian Faith religion in the United Kingdom and the World for the benefit of the public mainly, but not exclusively, by means of holding of public prayer meetings, lectures, public worship and fellowship, producing and/or distributing literature in accordance with its statement of faith to enlighten others about the Christian Faith.

The NPS is a membership organisation encouraging and promoting the playing, study, making, raising awareness of and development of the Northumbrian Small Pipes and Half Long (or Border) Pipes and their music. We organise meetings, competitions, sessions, courses and events; publish newsletters, tune books and pipe making information; provide a discussion forum; and maintain archive material.

Grants to local organisations and schools in the pursuance of studies relating to science, literature and the arts. The promotion of and assistance with education of pupils or past pupils of any school or college in the area of benefit and who are resident within the area of benefit. The assistance of any local organisation undertaking activities for young people in the area of benefit.

The charity offers its members, through the payment of a small subscription, the opportunity to enjoy the facilities of the hall and in particular the quiet enjoyment of the snooker tables and library.
