Arts Charities That specialise in Music

The Godalming Community Gospel Choir (GCGC) share modern and traditional Gospel music at events throughout the year. We hold several concerts in churches in and around Godalming and offer our services to sing at charity events, weddings and funerals. Our members enjoy three terms of rehearsals, led by a Musical Director and accompanied live by a keyboard player, for a termly fee.

To provide an opportunity for anyone to learn to play a musical instrument, to supply free of charge instruments, music, tuition and practice areas and to enable people to play as part of a band. To provide musical entertainment by way of public and fee paying concerts for all who wish to attend and to support other local charities, churches and Homes with fund raising and other activities.

ADVANCING, PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF THE ARTS OF MUSIC, DANCE, SPEECH, LITERATURE AND ACTING, IN PARTICULAR THROUGH THE ORGANISATION OF FESTIVALS IN ALDERSHOT AND FARNBOROUGH.

The objects of the Society are the presentation of concerts of professional standard, lectures on music and other activities

Raise money to promote the care, restoration, preservation, repair, improvement and beautification of the Parish Church and of the fabric, fittings, organ, pianos and other musical instruments, ornaments, furniture, monuments, fixtures, stained glass and documents in the Church and belonging to the Church.

Public performances of orchestral music. Workshop for string players available to members and non-members.

The study and practice of choral music to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance, culminating in two concerts each year, and to support charitable institutions.

We are a traditional British Brass Band, and undertake numerous formal and informal concerts and engagements throughout the year. Instrument tuition is provided for all ages and abilities.

The Berkshire Chamber Music Festival is a series of concerts, workshops and educational days in July each year. The festival aims to bring world class classical music to the area with particular focus on reaching those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.

Provide 4 concerts in a season , one is a family concert and the other 3 provide on soloistic work.

We arrange weekly rehearsal/practise sessions, procuring venue and professional musicians and arrange to perform at concerts, competitions, festivals, church services, weddings and funerals. Many of our performances help raise money for other charities.

We are the Parents and Friends Association for Our Lady's of Lourdes Catholic Primary School. We run events eg Christmas Fair - Summer Fair - Quiz night etc and the funds are donated to the school to assist in funding resources. eg Computers, Interactive White Boards, Library, Music Equipment etc.

In a safe and informal setting we encourage families to work together and be creative. Arts and Crafts, Drama and music are some of the activities children look forward to participating in. Healthy snacks and beverages are provided. There is no emphasis on cancer or death. We are an open group and children can share as little or as much as they like with their peers.

A choir which number 64 persons +. We perform concerts of sacred music twice per year. We charge a fee to attend but members subs subsidize costs. We use a profession organist, orchestra and conductor.

Rehearsal and performance of classical music concerts.

To promote brass band music through public performance and training. In so doing we aim to inform public appreciation of the role of the brass band as a source of cultural enrichment in industrial communities over the past 150 years.

Education in Music & Drama to competitive levels.

For the time being it has been decided to concentrate the Foundation's donations on three areas, these being education, music and athletics.The Trustees have decided to cease considering unsolicited individual applications. Instead they work through a small number of relevant bodies including educational organisations. Unsolicited applications will no longer be considered or acknowledged.

The promotion of brass band playing, through entertaining the public and encouraging people to learn to play a brass instrument. It particularly supports bodies such as Dorchester Town and Dorset Councils, for Remembrance Day commemoration and the like.A subsidiary, but important, aim is to make Durnovaria Band Hall available to other groups, specifically in the world of the arts and culture.

The object of the choir is the study and practice of vocal music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation by means of public performance. In addition, from time to time, through public performance, the choir assist and support such charitable institutions or purposes, as the committee determines.

To advance education for the public benefit, in particular by holding functions to discuss and explain a wide range of subjects in a friendly, conducive atmosphere.To promote, maintain, advance, and encourage the arts, particularly the development of musical appreciation by the general public, including by producing and presenting concerts, supporting performers, and commissioning new works.

To promote high-class concerts in order to foster the public knowledge and appreciation of music by means of public performances.

Provision of facilities for community use - meeting place for Societies and W.I. etc. Available for hire by local groups such as classes for local residents, exercise, drama, history, music.

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY PROMOTING THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF CHORAL MUSIC AND ALLIED ARTS IN ORDER TO FOSTER PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATION OF SUCH MUSIC AND ARTS BY MEANS OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCES.

The choir's purpose if to perform the best choral music at the highest standard to as many people as possible. We promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of choral music in all its aspects, in particular but not exclusively by the presentation of public concerts, largely in East Sussex.
