Arts Charities That specialise in Music

The charity's objects are to advance the education of the public in the understanding and appreciation of the art of music, particularly in the music of Sir Malcolm Arnold CBE and other composers and artists connected through his influence, through the hosting of an annual festival.

Serious Trust celebrates the potential of music to have a postive impact on lives. We instigate music-based learning and participation activities, professional development programmes for musicians and support the creation of new music. Our aims are achieved primarily by supporting (as a grant maker) Serious Events, highly respected producers of live jazz, international and contemporary music.

The charity runs various vocal training courses for students of all ages with the aim of promoting, improving, developing and maintaining public appreciation and experience of vocal music. Classes are held on a weekly basis during the three term year and singers also experience workshops and performing at recitals and concerts. The age range is from 5 years upto late teens.

Dementia Harborough is aimed at people in Market Harborough and surrounding areas recently diagnosed with dementia with their carers, to provide fun, companionship and information.We run a monthly Dementia Cafe with activities and guest speakers. Our monthly Singing for Memories group offers the opportunity to join in song and music. Additionally we arrange other activities and outings.

We give three concerts a year in the local community church, At the Spring concert, we perform a major work with or without orchestra. A Summer concert of lighter classical music. A Christmas concert which includes a shorter major work/Christmas music together with Christmas carols. We hold retiring collections at the end of Christmas and Summer concerts for local charities.

Income is received from annual subscriptions, investment income and fund raising. Legacies are irregularly received. Grants are awarded to the fabric of Truro Cathedral, its musical foundation, flower guild and other projects as agreed at annual general meeting.

To advance the education of the public in the subject of Hungarian culture (language, literature, history, music, drama, folk dance, other arts and crafts, etc.), in particular but not exclusively, among families with Hungarian connections in the South-West of London and the Surrey area.

Stoke Poges Singers is a small choir of around 40 - 50 members. We accept singers of all standards, from those who don't read music to those who enjoy taking on solo work. We perform around 6 concerts a year, everything from Mozart to G&S to Songs from the Shows, and all the proceeds from our concerts are donated to local charities chosen by members.

The charity runs an orchestra for advanced amateur players which rehearses and performs in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Three concerts are put on each year which are open to the public.

We support primary pupils education and development at Prendergast Ladywell Primary School. The PTA works with teachers, pupils and parents to provide a range of activities for the pupils to enrich their time at school like providing library services, putting on school fairs and other social events for the pupils. We will also provide materials like musical instruments and cooking utensils.

To provide financial assistance to new and existing pupils in the Prep (Yrs 5&6) and Senior School at Tranby whose family circumstances mean that they cannot afford the cost of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, such as educational visits, bus travel, music tuition and school uniform. In some cases the Trust can assist with school fees through the Reckitt's Bursary.

The promotion of the art of choral music for the public benefit through its study and practice and by public performance.

In 2019/2020 ten students were supported financially to a total of £3,380

The Society promotes, enhances, develops and maintains public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of choral and instrumental music in all its aspects. It does this through rehearsals and concert performances of the choral repertoire mostly with full orchestra, as well as through workshops and visits to performances of professional choral groups and orchestras.

The Charity advances the education of the public and furthers the development of public appreciation of music through the promotion of the art of the music of the late Serge Prokofiev.

The aim of the orchestra is the rehearsal and performance of all types of orchestral music in and around Sudbury by mainly local amateur musicians to the highest possible standard for each of our members. Our ages range from students to seniors and we welcome new members where we have vacancies.

The objects of the Choir are to educate the public in the arts and sciences, particularly the art and science of music and male voice singing.

Organising an annual Folk Festival in Kimpton in July;Maintaining Folk Sessions each month in Kimpton and Wheathampstead;Organising 50-minute 'Pop-Up' concerts in Kimpton during autumn and winter to further generate interest in folk music;Launching an outreach programme to foster increased interesting and understanding of folk music in local schools.

The charitable purpose of the Foundation is:For the public benefit, the advancement of the art of music and the study of the cello for young musicians under the age of 26 years including but not limited to:1. The loan of cellos to individuals in the UK.2. Awarding such persons grants to further their musical education.3. Provision of workshops, masterclasses and public performances.

To educate the public in the 'arts and sciences', and in particular, the 'art and science of music', by the presentation of 5 concerts per annum, and other activities, including 'plant sale' and 'annual dinner'-fund raising activities.

Choral Society

Support for brass bands in the Marple area, particularly in the provision of rehearsal facilities.

We are a Brass Band based in Sowerby Bridge. We provide free tuition and instruments to anybody wishing to take up playing a brass instrument and are available for any function. We raise our own funds through concerts and receive no external funding. We provide a social activity for all ages from 5 years to 90 years of age.

We are an all inclusive drama and musical society with a youth theatre. We perform throughout Northumberland and Tyneside. Our aim is to be an inclusive organisation. This is a holding note only until a full note can be prepared.
