Arts Charities That specialise in Music

Mid Wessex Singers is a mixed choir based in Somerton, Somerset. The choir give two or three concerts a year, usually one at Christmas and one in the Spring and in 2022 a Jubilee themed concert.Members of the choir also provide free entertainment to residents of local care homes and sheltered accommodation. We also donate to local youth groups.

Advance the public education and appreciation of classical music by promoting a concert series open to the public.

To promote, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Orchestra through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

To foster and promote the education of the general public in the appreciation of music in all its aspects and to co-operate with local authorities relating to the practice, presentation and study of music, in order to promote better and a more widespread performance of instrumental and choral work etc.

Putting on concerts

We organise an annual festival which usually includes a children's opera (designed, performed and presented by children assisted by professional musicians and soloists), an opera/opera extracts performed by a mixture of professional and amateur artists, two jazz concerts (one professional, one amateur) and, sometimes, a lecture on a music-related subject. The festival is usually held in May.

The financial support of music in and assistance with the maintenance of the fabric of the Parish Church known as All Saints in the town of Oakham, Rutland.

TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE PRIORY CHURCH OF ST. MARY AND ST. CUTHBERT, BOLTON ABBEY.THIS IS ACHIEVED BY SUPPORTING BOLTON PRIORY'S PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL IN PRESERVING AND MAINTAINING THE FABRIC OF BOLTON PRIORY, IT'S FITTINGS, FURNITURE, AND ORNAMENTS, AND ALSO IT'S SERVICES AND MUSIC.

Arts, music and drama

1. Weekly prayer, worship & teaching services about the Christian faith which is open to the public2. Weekly broadcasts on television and radio, publicising teaching on the Christian faith on issues faced by all people such as relationships, hardship & personal development.3. Gospel concerts, music & dance activities which is open to public & free.4. Welfare & food pantry to assist needy.

The charity provides an opportunity for young people to enjoy their instruments and improve their musical skills by playing together. Ensembles coached by experienced musicians meet weekly and they give about three public concerts each year.

Encourage all amateur musicians, particularly youth. Create a welcoming environment, striving for individual and collective music improvement. Improve and maintain links with the local community and local bodies, through production of a concert programme. To advance the education of the public in the understanding and appreciation of the arts, in particular opera, theatre and music.

By providing accessible rehearsals, open to all, at an affordable price, while performing at a number ofevents for low or no price.There is no audition or requirement to be able to read music to join, emphasis is put on inclusivity inmangement of the choir. TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS IN DORSET WHO ARE IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR THE LEARNING, TEACHING AND PLAYING OF CRICKET AND OTHER FORMS OF PHYSICAL RECREATION AND MUSIC EDUCATION INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE PROVISION OF PERCUSSION MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND TUITION OR EXAMINATIONS

Provide amenities for promotion of brass band music.Educate the general public in the art of brass band music.Enabling musicians of all ages, abilities and ethnic background to make music together.

To raise funds for the repair and maintenance of St Anne's Church, Kew, we have organised concerts, lectures and other events. We have contributed money for the repair of the flood-prone forecourt, and to restore the church's dilapidated South Porch. We have paid for new floodlighting to enhance the appearance of the church and its security and to restore several important tombs.
