Arts Charities That specialise in Music

The Community Light Orchestra (CLO) provides opportunities for individuals of mixed ages and abilities to enhance their musical skills at weekly rehearsals, both of the full orchestra, the string orchestra and the wind ensemble. The orchestra gives fund raising concerts in aid of local charities (for example, the John LeVay Cancer Information Centre and SSAFA in 2014.)

Based in Ponteland, Northumberland we are a choir of 30-40 members, and we sing a wide variety of music, from musical theatre to classical pieces. We perform two concerts a year and occasionally we are asked to perform at other events such as local charities and community groups in the Northumberland and Tyne and Wear areas.

The Parent Staff & Friends Association is run predominantly by parents and is supported by staff and friends of the school. The PSFA organise fundraising events throughout the year, including an Annual School Fun Day, live music events, school discos, etc

To provide classical music from professional players, mostly string players

The Charity runs 2 orchestras for promising musicians in the West Kent/ Surrey border area. The Training orchestra is open to players of ages 8 - 13 and gives concerts during the Autumn Spring and Summer terms. Bella Cora is a small (25 member) female upper voice choir who perform in concerts, at weddings and competitions, and a variety of events in London and Hertfordshire. Our repertoire is extensive and we perform a range of musical genres including but not limited to classical, folk, musical theatre, madrigals, spirituals, pop, modern classical and ballads.All include accompanied and acapella music.

As well as competing at both local and national levels in brass band competitions, we provide music for the local community together with music tuition for all ages especially disadvantaged youngsters as well as providing historical information to heritage groups, keeping alive the tradition of colliery bands. We provide concerts for other charities, veteran and senior citizen groups.

We are a mixed voice choir recently of around 70 singers from Didcot and surrounding towns and villages. We work with a number of local groups and orchestras, performing a wide range of music throughout the year and we are committed to contributing to the musical and cultural life of the area.

Music and Music education

The Opera Makers produce immersive and bold adaptations of classical operas as well as new works, masterclasses, concerts and online opera content working with both emerging and established artists to promote opera to the broadest community as well as providing support and training to those at the start of their careers.

The Rushmoor Choir meets for a weekly rehearsal in preparation for four concerts every year, holds regular social events to encourage good relationship between members, leads singing at weddings in local area when booked and regularly takes part in local council twinning activities with European community choirs.

To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of choral and other music. This is done in three ways, Concerts, working with the local Community and Primary School and Choir Tours

Music, Drama, other cultural subjects, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare.

The study and practice of Choral Music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance.Our aim is to support local organisations and charities to which we will donate an agreed percentage of our performance income.

We perform several concerts a year in Wakefield, and promote early career singers as soloists. Proceeds from ticket sales help with the costs of the concerts.

This is brass band capable of putting out ensembles between 10 and 30 players.Playing a wide range of live music for the general public at engagements typically (but not limited to):- bandstands, private functions and concerts.Supporting young musicians by providing concerts for them to perform in.Learning to play exciting music in a group.

The object of the Jacob Billington Trust is to support young people in the borough of Sefton, Liverpool, withtheir pursuit of creative arts opportunities; primarily, but not exclusively through financial support.Our work includes part-funded music lessons on a referral basis, monthly songwriters workshops and events to showcase young, local musicians and creative artists.
