For over 40 years, the New London Chamber Choir has specialised in contemporary works, performing uncompromisingly avant-garde music of all periods. The choir has a unique record of commissioning and premiering new works for mixed chorus and performs regularly at major festivals in the UK and Europe.

The charity's work involves teaching the public how song, and music as a whole, can either enhance or undermine the well-being both of individuals and the wider community. Music and song can be used in any situation, regardless of the person's state of health. Activities are largely based on Giving Voice (GV), an educational and self-directed tool developed by the NFGV's founder Jill Rakusen.

We provide education and training in the craft of repairing bowed stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello and bass) in parts of the world where access to such training is inadequate or non-existent.

Activities & events to advance the education of women for the public benefit in all areas including: issues of political & social importance; music, drama etc.; all branches of agriculture, craft, home economics, science, health and social welfare. MERYC-ENGLAND aims to raise standards of practice in early childhood music education. The charity works towards its aims by fostering collaboration between researchers and practitioners in conferences and high quality professional programmes. We support research which will raise standards of practice. We speak up on behalf of the sector in national fora and respond to national policy.

We arrange concerts for the young musicians and vocalists to raise their profiles to the public, donate musical instruments and fund local music academies. We raise funds for this by membership subscriptions, donations and charitable events.

We perform concerts mainly at local churches and church halls to allow them to raise money. We also have our own fund raising concerts and part of that money is donated to the local charity's such as Halton Haven Hospice.At our Christmas concert we donated to the charity Zoe's Place Baby Hospice. These performances take place mainly on Merseyside and in Cheshire.

To organise and run a competitive musical festival together with all the fund raising activities to make this possible.

To help children from deprived families and families in crisis. To pay for whole school activities eg a visit from a music ensemble, Christmas Treat or whole school educational activity. To thank people and organisations who have donated their time or resources to our school.Occasional donations to other charities who request our help

The main purposes of the WI are to enable women who are interested in the issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to advance their education in citizenship, in music, drama and other cultural subjects, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare. It seeks to give to women the opportunity of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

Recitals and Competitions

Examples of work include: ? the ?Big Sing? where schools come together to sing popular songs ? a summer school for disadvantaged young people at Band on the Wall, led by Brighter Sound ? A project in Manchester Library where young people came together to create and perform their own music ? An ongoing project with Bridgewater Hall for families of children with special educational needs

Fundraising from private funders, trusts and foundations. Provision of scholarships and bursaries to students from all over the world to travel to the UK and study music in the summer with top educators. Donation of summer school scholarships to the charity Awards for Young Musicians.

TO PROMOTE THE RELIEF OF THE ELDERLY AND BLIND AND/OR DISABLED PERSONS THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF MUSIC.
