Theatrical performances of the works of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Promoting 2 operatic projects per season plus recitals by company principals and contributions by our chorus to other organizations' performances.

Amateur choir of 30-35 voices, performing three concerts a year. The choir strives to: perform to a very high standard; engage its audiences by meaningful communication of the music; provide programme notes.The choir prefers to offer employment opportunities to musicians in the earlier stages of their career, and makes regular visits outside of London, e.g. to participate in cathedral services.

A community based Choral Society which rehearses and performs a varied repertoire of classical and modern choral music. All singers are welcome. On occasion, we work with other musical organisations in the area, such as Settle Orchestra, Skipton Music Centre, RNCM soloists, Settle Voices and Settle Operatic Society to perform concerts.

To educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts and to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts.

For the public benefit, we promote public operatic performances, recitals and workshops; and we provide training and workshops to performers/artists, and particularly young performers/artists, to enable them to create works of artistic excellence.

Arrangement of cultural activities - visits to shows (musicals, drama, opera, ballet, etc) or outings to places of interest. Functions may be arranged such as a jazz night, a topical quiz, book sale, etc. A monthly magazine circulated to all members and contains details of our shows & events & diary note of all other local functions notified to us by any other local 'not for profit' groups.

The study and performance of operatic works, musicals and musical comedies.To cultivate the arts of opera and musical comedy, and to improve and educate the public taste in those arts.To raise funds and invite and receive contributions from any person, or persons whatsoever by way of subscriptions, donations and otherwise.Support other local charities and arts related organisations.

Amateur dramatics- The Society's annual production in2017 was "The Wizard of Oz" The AGM was held in the Pennington Memorial Church Room, Kendal on the 19th March 2018. The death of Susan Scott-Stephenson was reported and Audrey Ireland was unable to continue as a Trustee . The remaining Trustees were re-elected. The Accounts for the year ended 31st January 2018 were presented and accepted

To advance the education of the public in the musical and operatic arts. To further the development of the public appreciation and taste in said arts. To promote operetta & musicals in furtherance of the arts.

Provision of musical - singing, dancing, acting - performances for public education and entertainment. Shows put on twice yearly at a local theatre.

We produce two fully staged, costumed and lit operas each year. In order to do this we audition for principal roles and have a regular group of chorus members.Our singers come from all walks of life, various nationalities and range in age from early twenties to late seventies.We employ a professional Music Director, professional stage directors and we rehearse twice a week.

Successfully ran and maintained a busy centre.The centre has been host to local children's parties and charity events.Management committee have supported the ongoing running of local community groups such as: Playgroup, Brownies, bowls, opera and Young farmers.

To promote and advance the arts, by establishing and maintaining an opera company to promote the understanding and appreciation of opera, music and related arts and by providing educational workshops and talks.The conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

The advancement of Classical Music research and performance to enhance public education and benefit

The Chichester Symphony Orchestra usually performs 3 concerts a year, one in Spring, the Festivities concert in July, and another late autumn/winter concert. The orchestra has also collaborated with other local musical societies including the St Richard Singers and The Chichester Amateur Operatic Society.

Wedmore Opera stages operas that we believe to be of interest to our local population. By bringing together upcoming professional & semi-professional soloists and local singers we aim to give a platform to the former, musical satisfaction to the latter, and enjoyment to our audiences.

The charity's main activity is to be a classical music society, promoting and organising a series of chamber music concerts each year. In addition, the charity encourages visiting professional musicians to work with young local musicians. Other events promoted include art exhibitions, literary evenings, one-off concerts & opera visits.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art of music in all its aspects, and in particular light opera, by the presentation of public concerts and recitals

The Society meets to rehearse weekly throughout the year for a performance of a choral work or a mixture of shorter works in the spring, a staged production of a Gilbert and Sullivan opera, or similar, in the autumn and a Christmas concert of carols and other festive music in December. Performances are given in the local parish church and the secondary school in Kidlington.

The objects of the CIO are:To promote the advancement of the art of opera for the public benefit through(1) The promotion and presentation of high-quality opera for the benefit of the local communities in Cumbria.(2) To educate young instrumentalists, singers, and actors based in or from Cumbria in the field of opera.

To further the public understanding and appreciation of music especially of operatic works by the study and public performance of such music and works.
