We exist to:- to preserve the historic and architectural heritage of the wall, surrounding the world's first nature reserve in Walton, Wakefield, built by Charles Waterton and its immediate vicinity;- to educate the general public in its architecture, geography, natural and social history.

Raising funds for the benefit of all pupils at Palgrave Primary School

To advance the education of pupils in the Village Primary school in Thornaby, in particular by: a) Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.b) Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Fundraise for school infrastructure improvement projects, to provide social actvities for pupils and their families, and specialist equipment not provided by the LEA for pupils.

To maintain the fabric, interior and churchyard of St Winifred's, a Grade 1 listed building. We do this through a membership of approximately 200 people who each pay a voluntary annual subscription. An elected committee make recommendations on projects for expenditure to our AGM which all members may attend and which takes final decisions on the use of funds.

GIRL GUIDING

To help raise funds for Whitelands Park Primary School.

We do various School themed discos and film nights throughout the school term.We have fundraising events such as an Easter Hamper raffle and a Christmas Hamper raffle.We fund raise to enable the children to attend several school trips each year.Cake sales, several sporting events and the summer sports day also take place to raise money.

To raise funds for the benefit of the childrens education at Our Lady and St Oswalds Catholic Primary School.

Aston House is a purpose built 48 bedded care home offering Dementia, Nursing, Respite and End of Life care. The home also provides specialist care for young people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. The Friends aim to improve the quality of life of the residents of the care home by working with staff, residents and relatives

Raises funds to help the parochial church council with the maintenance & enhancement of the church fabric, furniture & grounds.

Contributes towards the upkeep, maintenance and conservation of the structure & fabrics of the Abbey Church of St.Mary and St.Helena, Elstow. To this end, commissions work or goods, or makes grants to the Parochial Church Council, at their request. Raises funds via membership subscriptions, fund-raising events, donations & bequests, "Small Society" lotteries, trading activities and seeking grants.
