The Lions Club is part of a world wide service organisation.Locally it raises funds by activities & receives donations, and makes donations locally, nationally & through Lions Clubs International world wide.The club also provides help in other ways to needy people & organisations, such as running and maintaining a local based ambulance/bus, hospital & home visits, garden clearances, etc

Hold money raising events for nominated charities or rotary charities in general. Donations given to local organisations, schools, youth clubs etc. and international charities for polio eradication, water provision and poverty relief.

The Club provides support for those in need in South East Suffolk particularly those unsupported by Government and other agencies. Activities include; meetings for those seeking companionship, distribution of message in a bottle, grants to families and individuals, Christmas food parcels.

We make donations and grants to applications generally from Aylesbury and the surrounding areas. We raise funds through can collections, providing BBQs in support of local community and charity events. We have supported Hearing Dogs, Florence Nightingale Hospice, SeeAbilty, Christmas food parcels for the disadvantaged elderly, Young Carers, Women's Aid and several more.

The Club raises funds to donate to local and international charities, groups and individuals that are in need of support.

Under the Banner of Rotary International and Rotary uk the club raises funds for both Local and International charities and deserving causes in the community. Whilst supporting the Rotary International themes such as Polio eradication there is also a strong emphasis on local causes, especially educational needs.

Bedford Lions Club raises money through various fund raising projects throughout the year especially with activities at Christmas, Easter Egg Raffles and a Race Night. In addition we run events during the year and attend outside events with a candy floss machine.

The Rotary Club Trust Fund was set up to provide charitable assistance in the local community and overseas. Each year different needs are supported but all are with the common purpose to offer assistance to those less able to help themselves.

Provide support and assist with funding for global humanitarian and community projects incl: Polio plus, mercy ships, wheelchair foundation, mosquito nets, group youth exchange, the education and book appeal Ghana, equipment for local and international hospitals, tree planting, special needs schools, awards for school achievers/young person of the year, kids out etc.
