Families in Care provides independent Support, Advocacy, Counselling and Mindfulness for birth families involved in Child Protection and Care Proceedings.

The purpose of the charity is to help advance the Christian gospel through the work of Emmanuel Church, Tolworth by employing additional staff and providing funds for members of the church family to engage in Christian training, education and short-term mission trips.

The Community Centre delivers recreational and educational activities for local people including children, young people, families and elderly residents activities include after school kids club, youth clubs, pensioners clubs, Bingo, , Community events & excursions, cookery classes and a wide range of educational activities & Courses to upskill, improve health & wellbeing and reduce isolation.

Supports disadvantaged children in need by 121 weekly meetings of 2/3 hours with an 'older friend', who is a volunteer. The child may have their own problems or the child may be in a family or care, that make it more difficult for the child to thrive. Aim is to improve the child's self esteem, allow them to have some fun and build confidence, plus widen their experience in a safe supported way.
