Birstall District Girlguides is part of Girlguiding UK and as such: enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

We are a recently reformed group of 13 Trustees following the October 2023 AGM. There are 7 Representative Members serving the community. They represent the U3A, Drama Club, WI, Girl Guides, Keep Fit, Yoga and Parochial Church Council

Calling for worldwide abolition of the death penalty. 3) Developing legal definition & framework of Crimes Against Present & Future Generations. 4) Raising awarness on violence against women and girls

We provide opportunities for both girls and boys to become Beavers,Cubs and Scouts.To learn new skills and gain experiences within the Scouting Movement through games and activities.

Poplar Boys and Girls Club operates from purpose built facilities in Chrisp Street, Poplar. Facilities include a fully equiped boxing gym, an IT suite, games and activities hall and music studio. Young people can come to the club to relax and mix as well as participate in projects around fitness, art and learning.

Dirty Girls provides a safe, comfortable and creative space for refugee women to learn, or build on, their design and sewing skills. They are employed to make bags and other products, or are volunteers, depending on their eligibility to work. Products are gifted to donors in appreciation of their support. Most materials used are diverted from landfill and we are committed to sustainability.

Our activities include fundraising for the bursary scheme we offer to women studying or aiming to study in non-traditional areas for women. Bursaries are granted across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. We also deliver outreach and support to organisations helping to promote STEM subjects and careers to girls and women in South yorkshire
