Education

Provides pre school education in line with CIW guidance for up to 23 children per session. The Playgroup operates from rooms at Ysgol Babanod Village Rd. during term time. We also provide a wrap around care service for the children attending the nursery class.

Wings & Wellies, formerly known as St Georges Preschool, has been operational since 1969. We are a charity run preschool focused on providing early years education for children of ages 2.5 to 5 years. We offer a fun, innovative and engaging curriculum within a large hall and outdoor play area. We at Wings & Wellies fully understand that each child is unique and has individual requirements.

The charity is in place to run and maintain the Lomas Hall which is a village hall left in trust to the people of Stannington in 1952 by Miss Flora Lomas. The hall is used by fourteen local groups on a regular basis by people of all ages ranging from a mother and toddler group to the women's fellowship. It also available for occasional use events.

WE PROVIDE QUALITY CHILDCARE AT AFFORDABLE RATES.

We are an Anglican Church in the North East of England. Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, All Saints Preschool, Messy Church, Cafe Church, Sunday school and a Youth groupwho meet during the week. We support Traidcraft and Gateshead Foodbank. Each year we give a % of our income to Charities. There a number of community groups which take place within our buildings.

To give all children an excellent start to their education, in a safe and caring environment. Little Acorns provides indoor and outdoor play, in all weathers, with a range of open ended resources and child led activities.

Education for Pre School children

The activities we offer are planned according to the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance and are based around child centred learning. The children explore nature in our garden and the local beaches, parks and forests and grow plants, fruit and vegetables. We have a trained forest school leader who is also a qualified teacher and are proud to nurture happy, confident, independent children.

TO ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION OF CHILDREN UNDER STATUTORY SCHOOL AGE BY ENCOURAGING PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND AND PROVIDE FOR THE NEEDS OF THEIR CHILDREN THROUGH COMMUNITY GROUPS.

To advance education of children below compulsory school age by:-- providing safe and satisfying group play in which parents have the right to take part.- encouraging other charitable activities through which parents may help children.- furthering the aims of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

Developing Hudson's Fen for Sports and Community useWe have installed a playpark for young children, with disabled access and equipment. Future projects will include more equipment for adults and children.We'd like to go on to build a Community Centre

Pre-school Play Group is a non profit organisation that endeavours to enrich the lives of the children in the community. The children learn through play experiences following the national curriculum.We offer full day care for 2 year olds up to the age of 5 and provision for children with disabilities.We rely heavily on donations and grants to continually improve the quality of our environment.
