STAK provides a safe and welcoming community cafe/kitchen for the vulnerable, needy and homeless in the community. Our open door policy gives people the opportunity to be warm and dry, to have a hot nutritious affordable meal and to seek support and advice on a range of issues. In particular we offer training to improve employability skills and we are an accredited debt advice centre.

ADVOCACY AND GENERAL INFORMATION

We provide a confidential and free signposting helpline to all those in Hertfordshire affected by Domestic Abuse, including those being abused, perpetrators who indicate they wish to address their behaviour and professionals who deal with those affected.

Through personal contact and a news letter the Advocacy supports patients with neuroacanthocytosis and their families around the world. We are also an important initiator and financial supporter of education including research into the clinical and basic science of these neurodegenerative diseases.

DfG UK operates under the umbrella of Days for Girls International (DfGI). DfG UK has over 20 active volunteer sewing teams, dedicated to the DfG mission and to supporting menstrual health locally and globally. Their efforts include advocacy and awareness raising, fundraising, sewing and donating DfG Kits, facilitating menstrual health education, and building local community partnerships.

We train volunteers for the National Breastfeeding helpline, and support families across the UK, as well as via Webchat, Social Media messages and emails. This support can be accessed by anyone in the UK, of any background, 365 days a year. Some of our trained volunteers provide in-person support on a 1:1 basis and at groups.
