Alstrom Syndrome Europe is a network of medical and scientific professionals from across the EU working to educate and share information and promote research into the many complex aspects of the ultra rare disease Alstrom Syndrome. The medical professionals work with affected patients in their respective countries and liaise with patient groups.

We aim to promote compassionate care and Christian responsibility for animals and the wider creation through articles, books, conference attendance and through the media. We provide a public benefit by educating on the empathetic treatment of animals and the wider creation which gives a moral benefit to the human community.

During the year we raised a further £250 and made financial awards to two students, one studying for an MSc Micropalaeontology at the University of Birmingham, and one on a one week long specific course about Ostracods in Jena, Germany. The latter was unable to attend due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, so the grant will roll over

The Chris Shoesmith Global Foundation helps both backpackers and their families, we do this by giving honest help and advice as to any dangers that can be encountered whilst travelling. We also assist backpackers and their families should something go wrong such as; muggings, loss of any possessions, missing persons abroad and also bereavements.
