The AfTA exists to advance research and education in the study and practice of African theatre and performance by 1). providing a regular forum for scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas, knowledge and information; 2). publishing and disseminating research and information on African theatre and performance 3). providing information on African theatre and performance to the wider public.

We engage in training and mentoring of palliative care personnel (doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, etc) working in hospital and home-care based pc services in countries defined as 'resource-limited' - mainly in Africa and Asia. The Vinukonda Missionary and Medical Fellowship sends funds for the advancement of the Christian faith, the promotion of good health and for the relief and prevention of poverty in the town of Vinukonda, India and its surrounding area.
