The Chris Shoesmith Global Foundation helps both backpackers and their families, we do this by giving honest help and advice as to any dangers that can be encountered whilst travelling. We also assist backpackers and their families should something go wrong such as; muggings, loss of any possessions, missing persons abroad and also bereavements.

The International Positive Education Network (IPEN) brings together people and organisations in education committed to promoting the development of children's' and young peoples' character and well-being alongside their personal and academic achievements in order for them the flourish. During the year we raised a further £250 and made financial awards to two students, one studying for an MSc Micropalaeontology at the University of Birmingham, and one on a one week long specific course about Ostracods in Jena, Germany. The latter was unable to attend due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, so the grant will roll over

The charity's aim is to provide information in reply to any question on any cancer. Note that this is now undertaken in the name of Macmillan Cancer Support, with which Cancerbackup merged in 2008.
