Friends of Valley Gardens supports the curriculum and extra curricular activities for pupils of Valley Gardens Middle School. We do so by organising fund raising events and by running fun and educational activities for our pupils.

Established in 1993 Longbenton Youth Project (LYP), a voluntary, not for profit organisation,has a proven track record of working with disengaged hard to reach young people mainly aged 14-25 yrs, External evaluations have shown that LYP can engage socially excluded young people who mistrust authority and fall through the gaps in services. LYP works successfully with around 150 young people p/a.

The charity, Whitley Bay Young People's Centre provides a combination of outreach and building based activities, including arts and crafts, drug awareness, health eating also various sports, and regular weekend overnight fun events. The Centre also provides a facility to the local community for activities such as dance, gymnastics and martial arts as well as being a simply a place to meet.

The Project operates in the west area of Sunderland, providing a range of activities/facilities and services to the Community. These include Carer and Toddler Groups, groups for older people, community garden, wellness and fitness facilities, disabled volunteer scheme, A690 young people's work, stroke rehabilitation programme, art and craft groups.

NSVL provides a range of lifesaving, lifeguarding and community outreach programmes from its headquarters in Tynemouth.

To advance the education and enrichment of the students at Burnside Business and Enterprise College by providing and assisting in extra facilities/resources, supporting extra-curricular training, financing school trips and buying resources to celebrate achievement. All of the above types of expenditure are beyond that provided by the LEA and extra to that required by the curriculum.

We raise funds from grants and fund-raising activities and use these funds to support activities that advance musical education for children and young people in and around North Tyneside.

To ensure that disabled people, particularly those with learning disabilities, have a choice of valued, interesting and fulfilling activities to take part in and have the power to exercise that choice.

Headrock Dogs Rescue raises money to provide grants to dog charities in the UK and abroad. Money is raised through Facebook campaigns and fundraising raffles/tombolas outside shops locally.

The trust holds permanent endowment funds which its Trustee is unable to hold as it is a limited company. Like its Trustee it is a generalist grant maker, primarily for the benefit of communities in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland

The organisation provides services throughout the year for the benefit of the LGBTQ community in the region, as well as providing regional events, and training to progress equality and diversity within the region.

Jack's Journey supports Cumbrian families who have received a cancer diagnosis and are currently, or have recently finished, cancer treatment. This is through financial grant making, but also through smaller gifts to aid their time in hospital.In addition, Jack's Journey provides holiday accommodation for families from across the north who are currently, or recently finished, cancer treatment.

The advancement of education and training in Northumberland, Tyne, Wear and County Durham bringing together learning providers to promote and provide collaboration in support of vocational, work-based & work-related learning provision in the area of benefit; the sharing of good practice; and the working with key partners & stakeholders to promote and improve this provision.

WE CATER FOR MANY OLDER PEOPLES GROUPS AND CURRENTLY RUN 2 TODDLER GROUPS, 2 CARPET BOWLS GROUPS, LINE DANCING, SEQUENCE DANCING, BEGINNERS ART CLASS, Under 15s Art Club, Zumba, KARATE, WOMENS FITNESS LEAGUE, Pilates, TAI CHI & Book Happy

The charity is specifically restricted to providing relief to those granted refugee status and those seeking asylum in the North East region of England (the area of benefit) through the provision of a drop in centre to provide training facilities and support services so as to advance them in life and assist them with the adaption within a new community.

We organise the activities of 1 paid Chaplain Team Leader and 21 Voluntary Chaplains who a) engage directly with people in places of work, b) work collaboratively with ministries in other sectors, with local churches and with other agencies. c) represent to those in authority, peoples' experience and perception of work, and raise questions with those who make decisions. To promote the relief of sickness, disability and poverty for young persons under the age of 18 with a view to improving the quality of life for such persons. The Trust will primarily focus it's activities in South Wales, Newcastle-upon-Tyne & the North East, the Algarve region in Portugal or other locations as deemed appropriate by the Trustees.

LOCAL PEOPLE VISIT THE VINE ON A REGULAR BASIS THROUGHOUT THE DAY, AS MANY ARE ALONE & THIS IS THE ONLY OTHER HUMAN CONTACT IN THEIR DAY. THEY ENJOY OUR NUTRICIOUS, BUDGET MEALS. LOCAL HISTORY TALKS WERE ENJOYED AT OUR AGM & GENERAL MTG. TO HELP PEOPLE BECOME MORE EMPLOYABLE, FIRST AID COURSES, FOOD SAFETY IN CATERING COURSES, CV WRITING & INTERVIEW SKILLS & HEALTH & SAFETY HAVE BEEN ORGANISED.

Public courses and other events in meditation and Buddhism, guiding and supporting those who wish to follow the Buddhist religion.
