Charities In North Tyneside

Ellen's Gift of Hope provides small grants to support families with children aged 0-18 years who have disabilities and/or life limiting conditions, and who live in Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside. Grants are given for financial aid, therapies, respite and specialist equipment where there is an immediate need for relief of hardship, personal well-being or to address medical needs.

Running a community centre and providing space and facilities for groups and activities, including bingo, childrens dance group, circuits, dancing, bowls, brownies, and blood transfusion.

Environmental projects.

WE AIM TO;PROMOTE JOINT WORKING AND PARTNERSHIP ACROSS THE VOLUNTARY /NOT FOR PROFIT MENTAL HEALTH SECTOR.PROMOTE BEST PRACTICE IN MENTAL HEALTH TO ENSURE HIGH QUALITY PROVISION FOR, AND PARTNERSHIP WITH, SERVICE USERS AND CARERSSTRENGTHEN THE ROLE OF MENTAL HEALTH VCS ORGANISATIONS REGIONALLY.SUPPORT LOCALITIES AND MENTAL HEALTH VCS COALITIONS/NETWORKS ACROSS THE REGION.

The community centre provides the resources and support for the community within Collingwood Ward.

The society organises ten lectures each year on the decorative and fine arts. It has a church recorders group whose researches produce records of the fabric and contents of churches for presentation. Volunteers assist museums and other institutions with the cataloguing and maintenance of heritage property. The society makes grants to support arts projects in the community.

Scouting activities

Funds as approved by the Trustees are used to support a PhD Student from the Institute of Cellular Medicine within the Newcastle University Medical School. The student is determined at the discretion of the Dean of Postgraduate Studies

Makes cash and goods donations to local, national and international charities and other good causes.

The principal activity is to provide holidays for needy children from the North East of England who would not otherwise have the opportunity of such a break.

HOLD MEETINGS WITH SPEAKERS ONCE A MONTH.FUND RAISING COFFEE MORNINGS OR THEMED ACTIVITIES TWO OR THREE TIMES A YEAR

Music Matters North East aims to raise funds and in-kind donations for the promotion of arts, particularly the arts of music, poetry, drama and dance for the public benefit in North East England. We will do this through the provision of community based interactive workshops in areas where public access to these arts is limited by geography, financial means or other restrictions.

School fundraising activites ie fayres,school disco's and Easter egg competitions.

AIMS TO BE OF SERVICE TO THE CHURCH IN THE DIOCESES OF DURHAM & NEWCASTLE BY:PROMOTING THE RINGING OF BELLS FOR CHRISTIAN WORSHIP AND ON OTHER APPROPRIATE OCCASIONS;RECRUITING AND TRAINING RINGERS;ENCOURAGING THE ART OF CHANGE-RINGING;HELPING RINGERS TO IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF THEIR RINGING; ANDASSISTING WITH THE CARE OF RESTORATION OF BELLS AND THEIR FITTINGS.

To facilitate and support the churches of the North east in their relationships with one another and their wider mission in the world. This is promoted by encouraging and developing the principles and practicalities of Christian Unity throughout the region and encouraging the churches to engage with their communities through social action

BACKWORTH HALL SCOUTS ACTIVELY ENGAGES AND SUPPORTS YOUNG PEOPLE IN THEIR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, EMPOWERING THEM TO MAKE A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY. THE GROUP PROVIDES AN ACTIVE PROGRAM ON A WEEKLY TERM TIME BASIS AS WELL AS EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES.

Newcastle Male chorus is dedicated to upholding the great choral tradition of male voice singing in the North East, through the study and practice of choral music in order to foster the public knowledge and appreciation of such music by public performance. It supports other charities and voluntary groups in the region.

Promotion of knowledge of Ornithology through meetings, field observation and dissemination of information to interested persons.

Based in Ponteland, Northumberland we are a choir of 30-40 members, and we sing a wide variety of music, from musical theatre to classical pieces. We perform two concerts a year and occasionally we are asked to perform at other events such as local charities and community groups in the Northumberland and Tyne and Wear areas.

Raise funds through a variety of activities such as fairs, raffles, in school fun days.
