Village Hall

We make donations to other registered charities.Approx -ú50,000 is invested in unit trusts and it is planned that, over time, capital gains will make up the shortfall between income and expenditure.

The Society, which was formed in 1968, takes an active part in preserving our heritage. We promote various projects in local history and offer advice. We maintain links with local archives, libraries, museums and groups connected with archaeology, family history and industrial archaeology. Lectures and guided walks are held throughout the year.

The provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Gunnerside village and its surrounding neighbourhoods without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for :a) Meetings, lectures and classes, and b) Other forms of recreation and leisure occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.

Established in January 2014, Elliot's Footprint helps families to rebuild their lives after the sudden and unexpected loss of a child. Our activities include online information for bereaved families and their friends, support for schools, fundraising for more bereavement support workers and working with statutory bodies to improve their interactions with bereaved families.

We provide an area for local activities to take place:- bingo, and childrens activities, healing group, theatre group

Promote understanding of the deeds of the 2nd Infantry Division during 1942?46 within the Burma Campaign, with focus on the Battle of Kohima, by displaying current and future collections at the museum. Assist in the maintenance of 2nd Infantry Division memorials in York and Kohima. To assist with maintenance of other memorials around Kohima, including the memorial to Maj Gen Grover in Jotsoma

To promote the development of psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Yorkshire by: Offering bursaries to trainees. Promoting educational & public events & colloborating with other organisations eg Opera North, Northern School of Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Manage and run The Smeatons Centre and ensure that it is maintained well.

The objectives of the trust are the maintenance and upkeep of St John's Church in the village of Mickley, Ripon, North Yorkshire and other purposes in connection with the work of the Church, the development, maintenance and upkeep of the Village Hall in the village of Mickley, and the education and benefit of the villagers of the village of Mickley.
