York People First actively pursues its objectives by providing training and promoting advocacy. We work in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.We have worked with a wide range of groups and organisations.

Education for children, young people and adults with or without learning difficulties. Teaching the value of sustainability and living lightly.

In accordance with the terms of the Trust , the available income is paid to specified churches.The Trustees are satisfied that these purposes remain charitable and for the public benefit. The Trustees have complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charity Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

The income of the charity is to be used to provide an annual lecture on a subject appertaining to medicine in the Borough of Harrogate to members of the medical profession. The Trust shall also support other educational activities for the benefit of the Medical Profession.

Makes regular contributions to the running costs of All Saints' Church Manfield from the restricted income as well as applying its income and capital to major projects, within its charitable objects criteria.

Providing Amotherby Community Primary School with the finance to acquire beneficial items not provided by the local authority. Promoting the education of persons under the age of 25 years who, or whose parents, are resident in the area of benefit, and who are in need of financial assistance. Financial support of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupations.

Sports and Recreation.

Provide poor persons living in the parishes of Thirsk and Sowerby with a week's holiday in Scarborough every year

To provide resources and activities for the children in the school that are not covered by the delegated budget.

To provide a meeting place for the village of Lockton

However much we would all like to see more funding in education, there will always be shortfalls. FOWSA's fundraising events pay for those extras which benefit all the children in Wistow School. Many of our fundraising activities are social events and a good way of bringing the school and outside community together.
