OCO is dedicated to making contemporary opera in English accessible to the public. From time to time the Friends of Bix provides funds for the improvement or maintenance of the Saint James Parish Church located in Bix, Oxfordshire.

THE CHARITY WAS CREATED IN 1997 AND OPERATES UNDER THE SHORTER NAME OF RIESS. IT HOLDS PERIODIC SEMINARS AT APETHORPE PALACE (PE85DJ) ON EAST WEST STRATEGIC RELATIONS AND HAS STRONG ASSOCIATION WITH OXFORD UNIVERSITY AND CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY.

Supporting projects to preserve our two historic church buildings and promote their use by the wider community. Arranging educational/historical talks about our parish and its church buildings. Organising working parties to clean, tidy and maintain the churches and their churchyards.Fund-raising includes a bi-monthly Art Cafe, occasional concerts and other social events.

The preservation for the benefit of the public of all the natural aspects and features of the ancient Ridgeway trackways in Southern England, including The Ridgeway National Trail, and its extensions and associated features, and the provision of relevant recreational and educational facilities and events relating thereto.
