The Society promotes the study of labour history by: production of a journal, Labour History Review; holding and sponsoring conferences; bursaries for postgraduate speakers at such conferences; bursaries for (doctoral-level) research and BA/MA dissertations in labour history; grants for conferences and public events in labour history, especially if targeted at a wider audience.

We award scholarships and prizes to students in universities and schools, many of which have connections with W E Gladstone. We also grant travel awards for Oxford and Cambridge University undergraduates.

The British Association for the Study of Religions (BASR) promotes the study of the world's religions amongst interested scholars and students through its annual conference, a regular newsletter and publications such as the electronic journal DISKUS. XLH UK exists to help those with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) and their families living in the UK. We organise events and maintain a website with resources and news. We raise awareness by sharing stories of the lived experience. We also contribute to research into the multiple aspects of this rare condition, to better inform the development of new treatments and standards for best care.

In accordance with the terms of the Trust , the available income is paid to Scottish Local Education Authority in perpetuity .The Trustees are satisfied that these purposes remain charitable and for the public benefit.The Trustees have complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charity Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

Provision of financial assistance for adopted children with special needs

The UK Clinical Ethics Network (UKCEN) is the over-arching coordinating body for Clinical Ethics Committees (CECs) in the UK. CECs are advisory bodies attached to NHS trusts, who aim to advise clinicians on ethical issues regarding patient care and their trusts about the ethical implications of new policies. UKCEN organises annual conferences, sets standards and runs a website.

To relieve the needs of children with a metabolic disorder and their families and carers by the provision of grants, raising of awareness of metabolic disorders and the provision of recreational activities. Approximately 2000 awards made through a small grants system to families of children aged ten and under, diagnosed with a metabolic disorder, living in the UK.

Lyme Disease Action is campaigning to improve prevention, diagnosis & treatment of Lyme disease by 1) Making high-quality information on Lyme disease available, including via publications and conferences 2) Providing a help desk for public and health professionals 3) parliamentary lobbying 4) fostering scientific and medical education and research into Lyme disease and its associated diseases.

Our mission is to provide and promote take-up of practical opportunities to put Quaker faith into action and to develop new approaches for doing this. Voluntary work projects are provided for members of the Quaker community and others including short working retreats in Britain and overseas. Information and advice is provided to assist volunteering in Quaker and other projects worldwide.

THE FUND IS MAINLY FOR THE RELIEF OF WIDOWS, WIDOWERS, SURVIVING QUALIFYING COHABITENTS, SURVIVING CIVIL PARTNERS AND SURVIVING DEPENDANT RELATIVES OF MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES PENSION SOCIETY OR OF PERSONS WHO SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN WHO ARE IN NEED BY VIRTUE OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, SICKNESS, DISABILITY OR THE EFFECTS OF OLD AGE.
