The Charity was developed and launched by its three trustees Gillingham FC Chairman Paul Scally, The Evelina Children?s Hospital?s Paediatric Heart Surgeon Dr Conal Austin and Paediatric Cardiology Consultant Dr John Simpson in 2012The newly formed charity encompasses the work of Mercy Mission which was started in 2001, and acquired charity status in 2005.

The relief of need of intellectually gifted young people whose personal circumstances would mean that they were otherwise unable to realise their potential in life, by providing support in the form of bursaries, scholarships, education, counselling, placements, training opportunities or other assistance.

The Charity recycles sports kit, primarily cricket, for the benefit of young people in the UK and overseas. Through this we make a positive and tangible impact on young peoples' lives by giving them a chance to participate in sporting activities, promoting social inclusion and also protecting the environment.

GACD Action aims to promote health research globally to prevent and alleviate chronic (NCDs) and reduce health disparities amongst under-served communities particularly in low and middle income countries. Until 31/12/2024 GACD Action (Charity no. 1138223-22) was a linked charity to Medical Research Foundation (Charity No 1138223) which reported annually on our finances as restricted funds.

We've run projects that help various communities in the local areas of our teams in various countries, including a project to improve the lives of Homeless People and we have constructed a sports/community centre and a school in Ahmedabad, India. Our intent is to be a vehicle for our community to support those in need and address poverty. We will strive to prevent or alleviate poverty by grant funding to assist in the provision of education, training, healthcare and support to enable individuals to be self-sufficient.

Now I Eat is a voluntary organisation which assists young disadvantaged children in India, Sri Lanka and China, who do not have access to education, healthcare and nutritional diet. Its aim is to open future doors for these people in the world of work by improving their health and by providing them a decent education. Where practicable, we will also assist vunerable groups including the elderly.

Our focus in the U.K. is to provide comfort and security for the elderly in a family atmosphere, in our residential homes, nursing unit and retirement flats. The Congregation's work overseas is more diverse; to respond to destitution, sickness, lack of employment or education opportunity.

We will deliver sport for development activities that align with our objects of promoting community participation in healthy recreation, the advancement of charitable purposes through the medium of sport and advancing education of persons of all ages by developing their mental, physical and moral capabilities through leisure time activities.
