Pre-School Child Care and Education

The playgroup is registered to care for children age 2 - 5 years. We aim to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where children will feel happy and secure. We help children to play and learn together and develop a sensitivity to others. We aim to develop in children a love of learning and desire to continue their knowledge and skills as they move on to full time education.

To advance the education of children below compulsory school age by (a) providing safe and satisfying group play in which parents have the right to take part (b) encouraging other charitable activities through which parents may help the children (c) furthering the aims of the Pre-school Playgroups Association.

Hunton & Linton Pre-school is a Charity that runs a Pre-school for children within the local area, aged from two years to school age. We are a sessional run preschool, open term time only in line with KCC requirements.

Clapham Pottery is a not-for-profit community pottery providing classes and workshops for those who can afford to pay, as in evening classes, after-school classes and family workshops and also for the broader community many of whom can't afford to pay, e.g. the elderly, young carers, children from low-income families, the visually-impaired and adults with compound needs.

St James' Cottage Nursery & Out of School Club is situated in the village of Gaunts Common, for children from the age of 2 years up to 11years old. We support local families by providing high-quality affordable childcare during term time and 2 weeks of the year for holiday club. We fundraise throughout the year by holding special events to help keep the costs down.

We strive to offer a safe, happy, caring and stimulating enviroment, in which the pre-school children from families in our local area, can develop their skills for the next step on the ladder of life.

DRAX PLAYGROUP HAS BRANCHED OUT AND HAS NOW OPENED A PRESCHOOL IN THORNE TRADING AS THORNE FLOWERPOTS WITH THE MOTTO WATCH US GROW. WE STILL RUN UNDER DRAX PLAYGROUP UNDER THE SAME VOLUNTARY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. WE AIM TO PROVIDE GOOD QUALITY EARLY YEARS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN AGED 2-5 YRS.

The preschool offers a fun, caring and stimulating environment for preschool children aged 2-5 years. We adhere to the EYFS and follow PLA guidance to ensure that this is achieved. Preschool runs 38 weeks/year offering morning and afternoon sessions incl. lunch club Monday-Thursday and morning session only on Fridays. We have space for 32 children in the morning and 22 in the afternoon.

To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in the Beaminster area. This is achieved by the provision of a preschool within the premises of St Mary's Academy. The group is run by staff trained to a high standard and receives support from the Local Authority.

We are a sessional pre-school catering for up to 24 children each session.

Pre-School education for two year olds to school entry.

Community based gymnastics club with over 350 members, we currently reach out to various nurseries within the area as well as the local sports authorities where we host all gymnastics related events and competitions. We also provide weekly programmes for specialized disability schools, where they travel to us for weekly lessons.

We run a pre-school for up to 26 3-5 year olds employing 6 qualified staff Monday to Friday.
