Stoke Gabriel WI is a member of the National Womens Institute. We meet monthly for organized talks, outings, and friendship. We meet regularly with other local institutes for joint activities such as Carol Services, Exhibitions of handicrafts etc. We raise money for an annual bursary to Denman College. We also raise money for Associated Countrywomen of the World.

Advancing education through:(a) assisting in the establishment of colleges for 14-18 year olds for the provision of vocationally-focussed programmes of study (Career Colleges); and(b) advancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the education in Career Colleges by the provision of educational support services.

To provide financial support to the 'poor and needy' and also educational grants to those in further education.

Educational grants are given to students at school, college and university to assist with course books and equipment who are resident in the villages of Chew Magna, Stanton Drew, Stanton Prior, Stowey Sutton and Newton St Loe. Small donations are given to those who are both elderly and in need at Christmas time.

To assist students and/or staff in hardship

Our charity supports Blessed Trinity College in any way it can, financially and socially by holding events to raise money both for our College and our newly restored chapel. We also donate money to past students to support various activities they are undertaking. This might be sporting events, charitable events or gap year activities etc. We provide financial help for the relief of poverty.

We endeavor to provide further education on a voluntary basis for our members who are in the 'third age' and no longer in full time employment.

The charity makes awards to students, under 25 years of age, resident in or in the neighbourhood of Blackburn, who are entering university or other institutions of higher education for degree courses. Candidates must be nominated by the head teacher or principal of the college attended and will be selected using set criteria: academic excellence, career ambitions and financial need.

To support the educational activities at Bottisham Village College

Bringing less well-known operas to the attention of the public, concentrating on producing staged performances of operas, and in so doing giving artists and production staff at the start of their careers the experience they need at the critical post music college period of their education.

Grants are made annually to persons within a five mile radius of the parish boundary, who are receiving further education.
