Friends of Springfields First School organises activities and raises funds to spend within the school to -Develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the schoolEngage in activities or provide facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Provide information and awareness training about dyslexia to adults, parents, teachers and employers.Run a helpline and Befriender Sessions for adult dyslexics and parents needing information about support available in schools.Facilitate Saturday Schools in West Cumbria and Carlisle which provide specialist tuition for dyslexic children.Hold open meetings for the public and our members.

We hold fund-raising activities and donate money to St Anne's School, Stafford to help with school funds. We also pay for trips, books and equipment for the children at St Anne's School.

Events for the school children and their parents and friends, such as Christmas and Summer fairs, school cinema events, discos and shows.

Our charity runs different events throughout the year, with our biggest being the School Christmas fair. Family bingos and children's discos are also a big hit.

OUR AIM IS TO SUPPLEMENT THE SCHOOL WITH RESOURCES THAT IT OTHERWISE COULD NOT AFFORD AND IN DOING SO IMPROVE AND EXTEND THE FACILITIES AVAILABLE TO THE CHILDREN, TEACHING STAFF AND WIDER COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION, FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF A LARGE CAPITAL PROJECT INVOLVING THE REPLACEMENT OF AGED TEMPORARY BUILDINGS WITH A MORE SUITABLE MODERN BUILDING.
