Education Charities That specialise in University of the third age

There is a monthly meeting with an educational talk for members. There are activity groups for members to join covering a variety of subjects - some academic, some recreational.

District Membership of U3A (Kenton Branch) supplying adult education to the retired. This includes forming interest groups who study languages, literature, art, family history and other special interests run by its members and lectures from invited speakers.It also runs recreational activities e.g Current Affairs, Cookery, Theatre Visits.

A self-help organisation for older people and those who are retired from full time work, which draws upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership. Members come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment.

To advance education and to provide opportunities for recreational interests and activities particularly for older people in the Thatcham area who are no longer in full time employment.

Set out for education/training and help for elderly/old people also with disabilities.Acts under the umbrella of the Third Age Trust and as a coordinating or resource body.

To advance education and in particular the education of people not in full time gainful employment who are in their Third Age residing in Sevenoaks and its surrounding locality.

We have one general meeting each month and then have groups who meet for social and educational sessions, we are made up of mainly retired members and one of our aims is to keep active in mind and body and to make new friends and support each other.

U3A meet monthly at a hall in Maidstone town centre, with visiting speakers giving talks on a variety of subjects. There are 190 members, with some 30 interest groups, who also meet monthly, generally in members homes, on weekday mornings or afternoons. All members receive a monthly newsletter.

The U3A is a national organisation of which Bingham U3A is a an autonomous branch. The U3a offers eductional and social opportunities to people in their third age ie retired or semi retired. We draw our members from Bingham and the surrounding villages.

A Learning co-operative of older people which enables members to share many educational,creative and leisure activities.

Learning is for its own sake, with enjoyment being the prime motive. There is no distinction between the learners and the teachers; they are all U3A members.

Life long learning in the third age of life. An organisation for the over 50's, no longer in employment, providing classes in a variety of subjects, lead by members for members. In addition there are monthly meeting with a guest speaker and occasional educational visits.

Provides opportunities for the over 50's to further their education and other interests and develop new ones.

Prescot & District U3A is open to all residents of the Knowsley area. Its prime purpose is to offer an active life style to retired people over the age of 55 yrs. The activities that we offer includes bowling,keep fit classes,painting tuition,crafts,yoga,theatre club. These activities help to give our members a quality of life that can only be achieved in the company of like minded people

Educational & social activities aimed at those persons 50 years and over. Classes and courses run by, taught by and financed by the members of Ryedale University of the Third Age. It is a self help organisation promoting continuing learning for the retired, although there is no age limit for membership.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND, IN PARTICULAR, THE EDUCATION OF OLDER PEOPLE AND THOSE WHO ARE RETIRED FROM FULL TIME WORK BY ANY MEANS, INCLUDING ASSOCIATED ACTIVITIES CONDUCIVE TO LEARNING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.

The U3A movement encourages its members to share their knowledge and talents freely with each other in information learning interest groups. This self-help model empowers members to create their own opportunities to learn in the ways that suit members best. As a result, members contribute to a wide range of engaging and stimulating interest groups in an atmosphere of mutual support.
