Farnley Community Centre provides a welcoming space for local people of all ages. We host activities including a seniors luncheon club, childrens services, a community cafe, social events, and support programmes. Barlborough Civic Trust provides two buildings for school and community use with coffee shop facilities two morning a week. There are a wide range of community groups to cater for all ages from social clubs to various exercise activities for the residents of Barlborough and further afield. We now have a before and after school club in the Little School.

We run a Community Workshop in Alston, in the North Pennines. This is equipped with tools for a range of craft and making activities and supported by experienced volunteers. The workshop is a shared facility, to be used by a variety of activity groups. These groups aim to meet some of our charitable and social aims and include a Men's Shed group, a Repair Cafe, and workshop sessions open to all.

Our charity helps to prevent social exclusion of men aged 18 and over by providing a workshop facility.
