The main purpose of the Charity is to manage and maintain the village hall to provide an amenity for use by residents of the village. In addition, it promotes village events to encourage social interaction and a sense of community.

We raise money including the application of funds to further the aims of the Charity. We use the funds appropriately to best further these aims. We meet monthly to agree how best to achieve these actions. At these meetings we agree which further funds to apply for or how best to raise money and awareness of the Charity.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE VILLAGE HALL AND PLAYING FIELD FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY OF FREYSTROP

To maintain and run the Sandon Parish Room for the benfit of the residents of the villages of Sandon and Burston

The Management Committee (Trustees) run the Village Institute for the benefit of the villagers and aim to offer a range of social activities on their behalf. Fundraising activities take place regularly with the development of the hall's facilities as the primary aim in order that the Hall can continue to function as an integral part of a small rural village.

The Hall is used for Fund raising events for the Village Hall, Hall Committee Film Club, Guides, Brownies, Lunches for the Community, Private parties, Parish Council meetings, Yoga classes, Tai Chi classes, Meditation and other leisure activities, with the aim of improving the life of the Village and surrounding community.

Management of "The Loder Hall" which provides village hall facilities principally for residents of Maidwell.

LOCAL COMMUNITY-SUPPORT AND FUNDRAISING-PROVIDES VENUE FOR ALL SURROUNDING AREA

We run the Village Hall for use by the local community. It is already booked for some weekday mornings and evenings for regular activities, but may be hired for private events when free and at weekends. We reserve the right to refuse certain categories of events.

Hockworthy Village Hall was placed into Trust for the benefit of the village in 1953 with the objective of providing "recreation rooms and a centre in which the social, moral and intellectual life of the inhabitants of the Parish of Hockworthy without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions find means and opportunity for development".

Hall is used for family games nights, race and Quiz nights, general village events, as well as general hire and for private parties
