Health Charities That specialise in Dementia

The Charity supports those newly diagnosed with Dementia and the immediate Family Carer/s in the Area of South Warwickshire.We support those referred to us, and also fund Community awareness events along with 'starting up' local Carer Groups in the area offering both friendship and advice. We continue to lobby for improvements in Dementia Awareness and Care in the Area.

To advance the well being of people living with dementia by promoting the use of creative art and art based activities and promoting social inclusion.

A Dementia Friendly Club called The Meet and Remember Club.Offering members the opportunity to have fellowship and share their memories. Coffee and biscuits are offered on arrival and lunch served before going home.The main part of the morning is taken up with a compilation of entertainment using our supper projector and sound system reliving songs, movies and comedy from yesteryear.

To provide free music centres for youths for the benefit of advancing musical instrument skills acquisition.Those who can benefit from it will include aged 13-18

A social movement aiming to bring about a community wide response to dementia across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Hope for Home provides advice and support for carers of elderly people with dementia and/or advanced Parkinson's Disease who are looking after their loved ones at home.We are also committed to advancing the education of the general public, as well as that of health and social care professionals, in care of people with dementia and/or advanced Parkinson's Disease in their own homes.

The Charity provides the type of relief not provided by the statutory agencies to residents of the Parishes of Albrighton, Boningale & Donington who are considered to be in need Examples include , provision of holidays to needy families, payment of travelling expenses for young people and suport for establishment of 'Care & Share' group for residents with dementia and their carers

The support and instigation of facilities that enable Village residents to improve their health and general well being. These include a Memory Cafe, Care Watch facility, Installation and maintenance of Defibrillators, Trim Trail Development, development of a Dementia Friendly Environment

The Callington Memory Cafe exists to provide a welcoming venue for people living with dementia and their carers.We achieve this by meeting every two weeks for 2-3 hours in a suitable location presently the Callington Methodist Church Hall. We provide light refreshments. At every meeting we arrange an activity, from flower arranging to musical entertainers.

Organise music events in order to support and stimulate music activity within Sefton and Merseyside for amateur choirs, school choirs and dementia friendly choirs. Fund, in partnership with Sefton Music Service, choral workshops in primary schools leading to celebratory concerts annually under the 'Sing for Sefton' identity. Support the weekly Memories R Made dementia friendly choir, Southport.

Reflections runs groups for people with dementia and their carers at Shrewsbury House community centre (London SE18). Reflections provides stimulating social based activities, education and signposting to other local services and sources of information.

Money raised by functions eg. Quiz,Games Auction evenings,Cheese and wine,Flower Demonstrations for various local charities including: Alzheimers, MS,therapy centre, Guide Dogs, Women's Refuge centre, British Legion, Cancer Research, Brewood First Responders, District Chairman's Charity for the year,

Memory cafe meeting twice a month to support people with all forms of memory or dementia problems and their families and friends in the Henley in Arden and surrounding district; to alleviate isolation in the community and tackle loneliness.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE AFFECTED BY DEMENTIA IN RICHMONDSHIREPROVIDING RESOURCES AND ACTIVITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA ATTENDING GARGET WALKER HOUSE DAY CENTRE AND SUPPORTING CARERS EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN RICHMONDSHIRE

Fund raising by collection boxes for local and national charities as well as the running of events for the same purpose. Only small donations made this year. Balance to be donated in Rotary year 2103-14 to Shelterbox, Rotary Foundation, Contented Dementia (local charity) and other local causes.

Sleaford Dementia Support runs an activity group, singing and carers plus for people with a diagnosis of dementia and their carers. A further group for carers called Carer's Plus gives carers past and present further support.

Monthly themed activity sessions.

Provides stimulating talks, in a work type environment, for those in the early stages of dementia(from whatever cause) together with their supporters, including opportunities for questions and discussion; arranges group visits to places of interest; creates opportunities for social interaction with like minded people, from challenging and demanding work backgrounds who just happen to have dementia

Charitable work in the community especially for the elderly including dementia sufferers & their carers and young people and also fund raising for local charities. Through Rotary International we are involved in the provision of services elsewhere in the world including disaster areas through the provision of Shelter and Emergency boxes, polio eradication, shoe boxes for under-privileged children.

TO PROMOTE MEDICAL RESEARCH DIRECTED TOWARDS IDENTIFYING A TREATMENT OR CURE FOR ALZHEIMERãS DISEASE. THROUGH SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING WE SEEK TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH NOT ONLY WITHIN THE UK BUT ALSO ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARIES. IN DOING SO WE ENDEAVOUR TO PUSH BACK THE FRONTIERS IN CURRENT UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE CAUSES OF ALZHEIMERãS DISEASE.

To relieve the needs and to promote the good health of people living with dementia, their families and carers in the three counties of Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire and such other parts of the UK and the world through the provision of support groups and other ways as the trustees may from time to time think fit.To advance the education of the public about dementia and its care and support.

The Charity gives grants to support those suffering with Dementia and their carers.

Larchwood is a purpose built 64 bedded care home offering Dementia and Respite care. The Friends aim to improve the quality of life of the residents of the care home by working with staff, residents and relatives.

Visits to general educational venues.Visits to Theme Parks,ice skating, and indoor bowling venues. use of Community House with controlled internet facilities, youth workers providing healthy eating projects focusing on obesity Intergenerational work and working together/visiting with older people especially with disabilities and housebound learning about dementia friendliness .in communities
