Free Community Counselling Service

Provide informaiton, advice, counselling, referral, interpretation, translation and accompanying services on housing, welfare, health, immigration & asylum, education, training, employment to men, women, older people, young people, children, abled and disabled of all ethnic backgrounds.

The charity provides emotional support by telephone, visits, email, SMS and reaching out to schools. Samaritans values are based on its vision of a society in which fewer people die by suicide, or suffer despair and suicidal feelings. The charity carries out its vision by acknowledging and respecting the feelings of others and have the opportunity to explore difficult feelings.

Our main purpose is to provide Mindfulness Training to people to help alleviate stress and anxiety and improve mental health and well-being. This training is available to individuals as well as to community groups and organisations. Mindfulness is secular and is open to everyone.

In the villages of Banwell and Congresbury, North Somerset the Charity a) provides common resources for its member churches i.e. Administration, Parish Nursing, Youth Work and Community Developmentb) uses these specialist resources to engage its overall membership in building up the wider community c) runs events that bring the members of the four churches and the local community together

The charity's mission is to acquire, or secure long-term access to, land in and around Histon & Impington and enable this to be managed for these twin purposes: nature conservation and the community experiencing nature for their enjoyment, health and wellbeing. The first sites for these purposes are Long Meadow and Croft Close Nature Reserve, collectively known as Abbey Fields.

Upbeat is an independent charity set up by ex-cardiac patients. We provide support for people who have had heart attacks, or other heart related problems, and their carers. A range of specialist exercise sessions are held weekly under the supervision of qualified cardiac instructors and a cardiac nurse. Social and educational events are also provided.
