Kingston Bereavement Service was established in 1988 to provide counselling, advice, support and understanding of bereavement for people living, working, studying or registered with a GP in Kingston upon Thames.We have two main projects, the Adult Bereavement Service Project and the Saying Goodbye for children and young people.

We offer free counselling sessions via trainee counsellors to adults living in Essex who are experiencing suicidal thoughts. This can be offered face to face, over the phone or via Zoom. We are currently offering befriending and coaching via volunteers but this may finish in 2023 due to a lack of volunteers. We offer peer support coffee afternoons, currently in Thurrock, Southend and Maldon.

From our own premises we provide a meeting place for the benefit of the people of Hockley and Hawkwell aged 55 or over. Freshly cooked lunches, light refreshments and afternoon entertainment are available, 4 days a week, Monday to Thursdays. We have our own modified ambulance to collect and return the disabled and elderly to their homes.

We are there for people when they need us, which could be any time of day or night.People talk to us for as long as they like, as many times as they like.We don't rush, interrupt or push anyone out of the door. We let people lead the conversation at their own pace.

The School of Meditation teaches a simple and effective form of meditation designed for people living in the modern world. This meditation helps people find rest and discover their inner being.
