The Joely Bear Appeal has three main aims. The Appeal was originally set up to provide facilities to make stays in hospital more comfortable for young cancer patients and their families. The Appeal now also makes grants for research into the treatment and detection of cancer on children. It also promotes the importance of giving blood and of registering on the Bone Marrow Panel

CDH International operates in the UK solely for the purpose of fundraising for & funding of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research. OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO MAKE WOMEN AWARE OF THE SYMPTOMS, SO THAT THE DISEASE CAN BE CAUGHT WITH AN EARLIER DIAGNOSIS.

We support female health and maternity services locally in East Yorkshire. This means we support medical education, medical research, the purchase of hospital and community medical equipment and patient transport needs.

We work with the play specialists in the Evelina Children's Hospital, London, and hospitals in Kent to help preserve children's emotional well being during their hospital stay. We provide anything related to play to be given to children during their stay in hospital to help with distraction from the environment and the procedures they have to undergo. We also provide stickers and certificates.

The charity can supply funds to help for one off requests - ie help with long distance hospital visit. To relieve temporary poverty to individuals in Winterbourne Steepleton and to donate funds for the benefit of the local community.

To preserve and protect the health of the sick newborn and their families at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxfordshire and Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge by providing or assisting in the provision and updating of facilities, support services and equipment not normally provided by the statutory authorities for the Paediatric Intensive Care Units.

Fund raises money to provide Hospice Day Care to adult patients suffering from life-limiting illness and bereavement service to all ages and to provide extra facilities for benefit of patients which are not already provided by Hywel Dda U.H.B.Hold coffee mornings, concerts etc. for fund-raising and publicise palliative care service through local papers, leaflets, etc.
