We provide and maintain a Museum and Heritage Centre in the annexe of the Long Melford Memorial Village Hall, for the purpose of acquiring, preserving and displaying items of interest relating to Long Melford and its environs. In addition we undertake and promote archival and archaeological research, the results of which will be published for the public benefit.

Supports investigation of the past of the Vale of White Horse and the Ridgeway and adjoining areas, through archaeological and historical investigation and dissemination of interest through publication, lecture etc.

As a regional group of the Council for British Archaeology, the group also has a consultative role in safeguarding the historic environment in the region and shares in a forum for archaeological opinion.

A programme of talks on the history and archaeology of the borough of Wandsworth and beyond; archaeological visits to the Thames foreshore; occasional visits to local places of interest; support for Wandsworth Museum.

Surveys and excavations of archaeological sites to professional standards with full publication. Programme of archaeological talks, visits, open days and field trips, as well as opportunities for participation and hands-on training in all aspects of the archaeological process. Furthering interest in Natural History and Archaeology for Wells and the Mendip Hills

The object of the Society shall be to provide the advancement of public education in the archaeology and local history of Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill and Loughton in the County of Essex, together with the surrounding area.

Advancing public education and knowledge in archaeology and in Britain's history and historic environment in the area covered by the historic counties of Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
