The Wembley History Society has been established for over 60 years. We hold monthly meetings, social functions and visits regarding the hisotry of the area. We have members and the general public attending. Speakers from coucellors to teachers have given/give talks. We keep a keen eye on the changing structure of our area.

Advancing education of the public in the field of the history of photography generally, and in particular in Derby and the surrounding area. Presenting lectures and disseminating knowledge through public meetings and publications. Providing volunteer,financial, curatorial and conservation support for the W W Winter Collection Trust and its collection, developing it and making it accessible.

Bitterne WI enables women to extend their interest in crafts. history,citizenship,music and drama. It provides a meeting place for women to socialise and to work to improve their community.As part of the wider organisation of WIs it takes part in aiming to influence national issues especially those affecting women and family life.

We run authentic interactive African drumming, singing and dancing workshops and performances for all ages and abilities. Our purpose is to educate the public on the history and legacy of ancient African drumming rhythms and African percussion instruments and the powerful impact African drumming rhythms, songs and dance has on popular music still influenced by the historical African heritage.

SDVT Bannerfund is involved in all aspects of coal mining heritage in the areas of Seaham and the wider community of County Durham. We have renovated and conserve local miners banners for parade and exhibition to the public. We work with schools and children to raise awareness of our coal mining heritage including local mining history, song, dance, poetry and music, the life of miners.

Family History Research

BSG studies the ancient kingdom of Bernicia which existed in the 6th and 7th Century AD. This involves, but is not restricted to, studying the history, geography, economy, and language of the region. It involves looking at the position of Bernicia in the context of the emerging kingdoms which were to come together to make England. BSG also shares and disseminates its knowledge and research.

SEA meets twice a month to catalogue and preserve papers, e.g invoices tickets, programmes,and photographs, portraying the town's social history. Using the website, public events, reports in local press and radio, donations of ephemera are invited and the its use as a research facility. SEA aims to save ephemera and oral memories relating to the relocation of population from London in 1960's.

Arranges a programme of lectures and excursions each year in accord with our interests in local history, archaeology, architecture and natural history and occasionally on related topics. Publishes approximately three-yearly a journal containing a number of articles mainly on local topics but including an account of our activities during the period covered together with an account of our finances.

The Society aims to encourage conservation of the character and traditions of Wokingham, promotes the study of history of Wokingham and interest in the town's heritage and provide grants from the Society's funds to relevant local organisations.

The association in Chester has a long history of promoting good mental health in the Chester area. We offer a Peer Lead user support drop in with support / self help groups.
