The advancement of public education in the history, archaeology, technology & natural history of the Waltham Abbey Royal Gun Powder Mills by provision of such financial or material assistance to facilitate the operation of the site, buildings and grounds as the trustees shall from time to time determine.

The primary objective of the Society as set out in our constitution is the educationof the public in the history of the Borough of Woking District and nearby parishes.This is attained mainly by organising talks and outings. We also undertake research into local topics.

A museum/gallery of clown history, showing items such as posters, clothing, books,videos,props and the oldest clown egg collection in the world. Some eggs dating back to the 1940s. All clowns that belong to Clown International ( the oldest clown organisation in the world) have their face copied on our great egg collection.

Archaelogical digs for ancient history and preservation in the Bexley borough including educational tours and digs.Training students onsite experience.

Maintenence and enhancement of the canal in both Devon (watered) and Somerset (unwatered) through monthly working parties and collaboration with partners, particularly regarding the historical structures. Presentations about canal history are given to local bodies. Currently developing a Park'nGlide scheme to carry visitors from a car park to Taunton town centre by water using electric boats

To seek out and preserve motion picture film showing life and work in the historic county of Lincolnshire, and to make such film accessible to all with an interest in Lincolnshire's local history.

To promote interest in St Marys Church Beverley, and its history, to see it conserved in all its beauty for future generations, where appropriate, to offer funding for special projects acceptable to the parochial church council.

The Fund is committed to raise funds for the development of a visitor centre to promote interest and knowledge regarding The Battle of Sedgemoor. Once developed, the fund will make grants to the preservation of St Mary's Church Westonzoyland as an historical building within and after the battle.
