Heritage Charities That specialise in History

The principal object of the charity is the preservation of English historical, architectural and constitutional heritage, in the East of England.

The National Gas Museum Trust was established in 1997 and owns a collection of c4,000 artefacts connected with the history and contemporary practice of the gas industry. The collection has been described as the most comprehensive and important of its kind and traces the industry's evolution.

To promote awareness of, the history of, and restoration of the Hollinwood Branch Canal, for the benefit of all visitors and the local communities along the route, including regeneration of said areas. To promote use of the Canal corridor by all appropriate forms of waterborne and foot traffic, including the promotion of a public right of way along the length of the canal

B.H.T.A.'s objectives are to promote the town's historical, archaeological, natural, architectural and geological heritage and to preserve this heritage and the environment in which it exists.

Evening lectures on local historical and associated topics. Annual talks with a guest speakers. Outings and gatherings to places of mutual interest for the members.

Support to needy people in the historical borough of Poplar

A parish based organisation involving all aspects of the community in researching recording and publishing parish events and local history both ancient and modern.

Acts as steward for the village's history.

To promote the study of local history in the member villages.

Increasing knowledge of local historic and archaeological interest to members of the society and local inhabitants.

The Charity's objectives are "to advance the education of the public, in particular young people, in the historical and cultural importance of the Battle of Waterloo and the period known as the Age of Revolution, particularly but not exclusively by the provision of an interactive website and educational materials and activities."

Conservation work in Nevis; supporting local historical Society

We are a local history society that is established for the public benefit to serve Rugeley and its surrounding villages.Our aim is to 1) stimulate public interest in the area2) to promote high standards of planning and architecture in the area3) to secure the preservation, protection,development and improvement of features in historic or public interest.

We hold an annual LGBTQ film festival during October with additional screenings to mark national events including World Aids Day, International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia and LGBT History month. We select films that entertain, educate, challenge (questioning complacency) and change (how others perceive and behave towards us and how we feel about ourselves).

To further the study of History at Warwick School by providing History books for the school library and to support the production of outstanding work outside the remit of the normal curriculum.

Conserving and upgrading BAILEY HILL PARK, for the people of Mold, and Flintshire, and the surrounding area: encouraging provision of recreational facilities; conservation of the physical and natural environment (including biodiversity, landscape features and the scheduled ancient monument); respecting the site's history, and advancing public education through structured educational programmes.

The Reading Room is available for island residents and appropriate visiting groups for meetings and educational purposes. The integral Archives relating to the social and historical life of the Islanders are available for study and research by the Holy Island Community Archive Group. Bookings to be made through the Trustees. Funds raised are for the maintenance and improvement of the facilities.

Involved in putting on public exhibitions of bonsai together with demonstrations and lectures on the history and creation of bonsai; Making accessible to the public displays of bonsai within the National Bonsai Collection situated at it's permanent site at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston, Birmingham.Advising the public on care and maintenance of their bonsai.

Monthly winter meetings with speakers relevant to archaeology & history topics. Summer outings to dig sites, historical sites etc.
