SLAEC seeks to advance the knowledge of the history of the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark by archaeological investigation. It provides grants in support of this aim for archaeological fieldwork, research, publication and exhibitions and for opportunities for the public, including families and children, to take part in archaeological activities.

The Museum provides displays on subjects of local interest and helps researchers in person or by letter. The Museum collects, displays and stores items of local interest. It co-operates with schools and other organisations who send groups to the Museum to study specific matters. It undertakes research into matters of local historical interest.

The Trust is charged with holding 1,564 Scrolls from Bohemian and Moravian congragations destroyed by the Nazis. It distibutes these worldwide on loan to Jewish communities. It has established a museum to explain the history of the Scrolls and its current work. It acts as a hub of a network of recipients of Scrolls.

THE COLLECTION, CONSERVATION AND PUBLIC DISPLAY OF ALL ITEMS OF HISTORICAL AND MILITARY INTEREST RELATING TO THE DUKE OF LANCASTER'S OWN YEOMANRY AND OTHER VOLUNTARY CAVALRY UNITS IN LANCASHIRE AND ADJACENT AREAS. To describe and illustrate the historical development and distinctive nature of the New Forest through education, outreach services and a specialist reference library. Also to conserve and protect the character and amenities of the New Forest for public benefit.

The trust preserves, for public benefit, the land and buildings of the Garrett Engineering Works, established in Leiston, Suffolk in 1778 together with engines and other artefacts made there. The museum also collects and preserves items relating to the local area and to the history of the Garrett Family, has a strong educational programme and organises visits, lectures and fundraising events.

The Friends of Havant Museum charity supports the heritage aspect of The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre in Havant in Hampshire. The Friends advises The Spring on heritage matters, produces a twice-yearly Newsletter and organises a series of monthly talks on local and general historical topics.
