We provide social events for the elderly in the borough of Greenwich and surrounding boroughs which include weekly gentle exercise classes, weekly Luncheon Club, parties and outings. THE FUNCTION OF THE FRIENDS GROUP IS TO MAINTAIN, PRESERVE AND CONSERVE THE ORCHARD; BORDER AND PARTERRE PLANTING; AND LAWNED AREAS OF THESE 17TH CENTURY, AUTHENTICALLY PLANTED, RESTORED GARDENS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL. WE OPEN THE GARDENS TWICE A WEEK AND ARE INTENDING TO INCREASE THIS. WE INVOLVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITY, COLLEGES AND BUSINESSES IN OUR WORK.

This Charity is designed to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of street band and outdoor music (including village and town bands and collective music making practices used for processions, rituals, parades, dances, protests and civic occasions) and the culture, history and traditions through public events, performance,workshops and educational activities.

Provides help for elderly and young people in need in the old historical ancient parish of Witley which includes the modern parishes of Milford and Witley.

We make available through our heritage museum artefacts the history of Ventnor and the Undercliff. The public can view our exhibitions, carry out research etc. Our archives now total over 10000 individual items. We also give lectures, film shows etc. Our aim is to inform, educate and promote an interest in local history.

The Foundation?s activities include: establishing contact with: government ministries; embassies; NGO?s; corporations; museums; libraries; universities [educational institutions]; organizations & companies involved in the restoration & preservation of buildings, documents [manuscripts, books], frescoes, religious & archaeological materials; & other charities; making grants; providing advice.

To advance the education of the public in the genre of pantomime including raising public appreciation of the genre in particular by:-Providing awards for excellence in the genre-Provision of training and workshops to actors/performers/artists to enable them to create works of artistic excellence.-Educating the public in general about the genre, its practice, history, traditions, and culture

We conduct research into local history and publish the results in books which we sell.We have a Museum, which opens at the weekend from April until the end of November and is run entirely by volunteers.Children from local schools and other groups visit to learn about local history.Talks to which the public are invited are held monthly.Fund raising coffee mornings are held monthly.

Activities include Weekly Social Arts & Crafts Club, Warm Hub during winter, monthly Country Life Cluster group, Local History meetings as well as quarterly Country Crafts & Produce Fayres. Other social events include craft workshops, bingo and domino evenings as well as jumble sales The hall is hired for private parties, wedding receptions, funeral teas &by local groups

The preservation, protection, restoration and enhancement of the former Mendip Hospital cemetery and chapel, to provide a public amenity of historical merit for the benefit of the local community. Also, to provide information and support for those who have relatives buried in the cemetery.

We offer the opportunity for members to attend any of over 50 groups covering any activity where sufficient interest has been shown, this can be in peoples homes or more formal venues, dependent on numbers interested. Members are welcome to lead an interest group or assist in it. Our activities range from Walking, Cribbage, Choir, Geneology, Art, Fishing, History & Psychology to name but a few.

The preservation and conservation of the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, including the palaeontological statues, geological displays and related landscaping, for the public benefit.The advancement of education for the public benefit in the subjects of the CP Dinosaurs, palaeontology, biology, history and local or national heritage and to promote science in connection with any or all of these subjects.

Our Friends group exists to protect and improve Whirlow Brook Park and the surrounding woodland and waterways. Our income comes from membership fees, donations and grants and is used for: restoration of hard and soft landscaping; recreational activities for park users; and ecological and historical research. Our volunteers do most of the work, all for the benefit of the general public.

Mining History

The charity exists to assist in the restoration and maintenance of St Peter's Church, Little Wittenham; and the advancement of the education of the public in the history and architecture of the church.

We collect, conserve and display items of historical interest from Witney and the surrounding area. We have an extensive collection of photographs. We are compiling a collection of oral recordings from the local area. The museum is totally run by volunteers. We are visited by individuals, schools, local groups and organisations.

To promote the study of history and archaeology in the Borough of Spelthorne.

The maintenance of the museum of the Royal Dragoon Guards and antecedent regiments, including the acquisition and preservation of historical artefacts.

We exist in order to support LCPS. We have raised funding by organising many successful functions and events, such as school discos, summer fairs and pop-up shops. Our money raised has been used not only to fund additional equipment for the school, but also to provide fun educational activities for the pupils such as science and history workshops and providing football and athletic kits.
