The Upper Dales Community Land Trust recognises there is a critical shortage of affordable, sustainable housing for people born, living or working in the Upper Dales of North Yorkshire. With others, we are working to change this and to ensure our unique community, its history and legacy, lives on.

We maintain a Museum which is manned by volunteer Stewards with local knowledge to help visitors learn about Newhaven and the surrounding area. We have a keyword searchable database providing access to information within the 20,000 photographs and other materials held. We also hold public lectures on local history and attend local community events.

We are a Village Hall providing rooms for various village societies, eg Cubs & Scouts, History Society & NH Healthy Eating classes. Use of Crookham Village Hall to provide social events for the inhabitants of Crookham and surrounding areas. These include village evenings, evening meals, coffee mornings and lunches, and use of the Hall as a venue for society meetings, including an Art Club, Book Club, Gardeners' Club, Knit & Natter, and local history and archaeology (TillVAS). The hall is available for private hire.

The Charity was established to promote the rich and diverse history of the old county of Huntingdonshire staging a festival of history throughout the year.
