WE SPONSOR LECTURES AND OTHER EVENTS AND SUPPORT THE MUSEUM IN ANY WAY WE CAN. IN JUNE 2010 WE PRODUCED 300 BOOKLET'S CALLED 'PERFECT ARRANGEMENTS IN TIME' ABOUT FREDERIC GERSHOM-PARKINGTON (1886-1952) WHO BEQEATHED ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S MOST IMPORTANT CLOCK AND TIMEPIECE COLLECTION TO THE TOWN OF BURY ST. EDMUNDS. IN PAST 12 MONTHS WE ENABLED & CONTRIBUTED TO PURCHASE OF ITEMS FOR THE MUSEUM

The Society runs a programme of talks, walks and other events relating to local history in general and to the history of Long Buckby in particular. It also carries out research on aspects of village history. The third area of activity is the collection of photographs, documents and artefacts relating to the village past and present and to this end it maintains a small museum for its collection.

The new purpose of the Charity is the development and care of the permanent collections of Rochdale Art Gallery. This will specifically include purhcases, conservation (both remedial and preventative) and improved public access to the collection

The Society maintains the historic gatehouse to Minster Abbey and provides a museum of local interest as well as monthly talks and activities relating to local History of the Isle of Sheppey.

Provides funds and human resources for the Fan Museum. Arranges raffles talks visits to other fan collections and other related activities.

The charity exists to support and assist the Chester Grosvenor Museum and promote its use and enjoyment by the public. In furtherance of this, to make loans or gifts of money to enable the Grosvenor Museum to acquire artefacts and also provide funds for their maintenance.

Medical museum and archive services

The purpose of the Charity is to educate, familiarise and provide assistance for research into the history of the development of small arms, including anti-armour and mortars. The collection includes the Travers Library which is over a 1000 books of military history and small arms associated equipment and ancillaries.

Our main activity is to hold monthly meetings in our village hall. We invite a range of speakers through the year to address each meeting on their specialist subject. Also we organise outings to enrich our members knowledge of our wider environment, visiting stately homes, museums, gardens and theatres. We raise funds by running craft workshops and selling the goods we have made.

To promote the arts and heritage of the public in the South Lincolnshire region in particular but not exclusively to advance the education of the residents and advancing their knowledge of local heritage primarily through the establishment and maintenance of a working museum, and through the use of arts and rural crafts.

We provide and maintain a Museum and Heritage Centre in the annexe of the Long Melford Memorial Village Hall, for the purpose of acquiring, preserving and displaying items of interest relating to Long Melford and its environs. In addition we undertake and promote archival and archaeological research, the results of which will be published for the public benefit.

TO COLLECT COVENTRY MADE CLOCKS, WATCHES TOOLS AND DOCUMENTS FOR POSTERITY. THE MUSEUM IS NOW OPEN TUESDAYS AND SATURDAYS 11AM to 3PM. WE PUT ON MOBILE EXHIBITIONS AT LOCAL EVENTS AND GIVE TALKS TO LOCAL GROUPS AND SCHOOLS.

The object of the charity is the promotion of the efficiency of the South Notts Hussars Yeomanry by;a) providing facilities and amenities for training and during serviceb) relieving financial need of current, or past, Yeomanry or their dependentsc) providing and maintaining a museum to record the achievements of the Yeomanry
