Provision of lectures and visits in pursuit of the understanding of art. Open to the public. Deployment of funds to support Rochdale Art Gallery for the restoration and purchase of works of art.

The Friends provide volunteers to carry out research and conservation, demonstrate rural crafts and help with schools' educational visits and museum outreach. They help financially with the acquisition of objects, improvement of visitor facilities and collection displays.

We have had a joiner install 'protectors' surrounding 2 valuable paintings to protect them from any wilful damage whilst on display in the Beacon Museum, Whitehaven, Cumbria. We are members of BAFM and local History Groups and invite and pay for Lectures at The Beacon Museum.

The charity provides an annual series of lectures on local history, exhibitions of photographs, organizes trips to places of historic importance and takes part in several conferences in the area. We hold, bi-annually, a very successful open day, in conjunction with the new borough museum.

The museum of childhood is located at the National Trust property of Sudbury Hall, Derbyshire and this is where the trust promotes and maintains its collectable objects.

Education of the general public in the evolution of British Radar its operational use in WW2 and subsequent developments

To promote knowledge of and research into the life and works of the author George Borrow (1803-1881), by means which preserve, exhibit and study his writings and works and other material objects connected with or tending to perpetuate his memory and to throw light on his life and work. Currently sponsoring book publication, and a conference for the general public in Norwich November 2013.

Provides a display, reseach and sales area for the local museum, local societies and artists. This is achieved by the trustees leasing and running a shop in the centre of Camberley. This is at 33b & c Obelisk Way, The Square, Camberley, GU15 3SG.

Establish a Thames Heritage Boat Museum

Museum containing artifacts and a large archive of local history, industry and social history, doomsday to present day.

Activities all as application form. Current activities are fundraising to build the helicopter museum and resource centre.

Grants from the Fund are available to assist with the costs of visits to universities, libraries, or museums in the UK, related to actual or planned research activities. Any student taking a taught or research postgraduate course related to the ancient Greek or Roman world at any university in the UK is eligible to apply. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs are eligible.

We have added to our museum's features a DVD player with film of the historic buildings in the village and a free footpath guide for visitors to follow. We use one of our display cabinets for local displays of interest - this year we had a display for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, also on the history of the telephone.

Restoration of James Gigg's Octagon Building in Twickenham.

The charity is responsible for the maintenance, protection and display of the Chesham Town Picture, under the terms of the Francis Trust document dated 1982. Following display in the town library and a restoration in 2012/13, the picture was moved to Chesham Museum in 2013. With the closure of the museum in 2017 the picture now resides in the meeting room of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Chesham.

The Objects of the Charity are to advance the education of the public by promoting and supporting the discovery, understanding, responsible use and enjoyment of the natural world, in particular by promoting or supporting such of the Charitable Objectives of the NHM as the Trustees determine from time to time and (save for purposes incidental and ancillary to those Objects) no other purposes.

RAISES FUNDS TO BUY OBJECTS OF INTEREST FOR THE CARMARTHEN MUSEUM. ALSO HELPS SUPPORT CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES INCLUDE A CHRISTMAS CONCERT AND AN ANNUAL QUIZ.
