Principal activity is the organisation of the annual Tockwith & District Agricultural and Horticultural show.

The village hall serves a mainly rural community. Currently a mens club, WI, gardening club, pre-school, carpet bowls, whist drives, bingo sessions, film nights, singing group; the hall is also used for monthly coffee mornings, quizzes, parish council monthly meetings and for various church functions. There is an annual pantomime and occasional village celebrations.

Promote floriculture and horticulture with one-day garden safari and one-day Chelsea (Flower Show) Fringe event (Nuts in May). Fundraising with plant sales and participation in Apple Fair.

As a Member Society of the The Arts Society, the Society shall have as the objects the promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public, the cultivation, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts, and the giving of aid to the preservation of our national artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.

Practical gardening and horticultural activities open to all adults and young people. Weekly free public sessions in Tinsley offering fun, social and recreational activities to promote well-being and alleviate isolation.

We provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation by providing a gardening club, community allotments, community green spaces and other activities for individuals in Gainsborough and the surrounding area.

The Housing, Care and maintenance of the Wolseley collection. The provision and arrangement in the wolseley room, or elsewhere of lectures, talks etc on subjects of argiculture and horticulture, garden design, history of places and lands in sussex and the history of old agricultural customs. Purchase of books, letters, maps etc and other objects of interest to be added to the wolseley collection.

To bring relief to anyone in the local Harpenden community who is in need - either by offering assistance from local sources or by putting the person in touch with an appropriate specialised welfare service. Direct help is offered in the form of transport for people who are unable to use public transport or responding to any request for "good neighbour" help e.g. shopping, gardening, or company.

The aim of the Friends of Swainswick School is to assist the school in the provision of items, ranging from art materials to gardening equipment, that will enhance the educational provision of the children. This may also include educational trips and outings. Fund raising exercises include cake sales, a Summer Fete and Christmas Craft Fair.

A Good Neighbourhood scheme helping in a range of activities those who are either permanently or temporarily unable to undertake aspects of everyday life. Principally providing transport for medical reasons, shopping and visiting, as well as assisting people with gardening, walking dogs, simple DIY, people sitting, paperwork and other similar tasks.

A self managed allotment association providing horticulture facilities for current and new members. Raised beds are provided for members with mobility impairment or other disabilities. Support for local groups , including the Scout or Guide Associations by providing space for activities within the allotment site. Fund raising support for other charities e.g. Macmillan Cancer Support.

Monthly gardening volunteering sessions Open the Information Centre at weekends and manage the facility for community groups to use in the week. Our core activities are snooker and pool that is available to our members 6 days per week. Other activities include sports and activities, on our playing fields and family fun days for the community. A meeting room, classroom and grounds are available for use to any group. A Men in Sheds project was set up in 2020, using the facilities available for gardening and hobby pursuits.

Provide local community hall for ballet classes, pre school, horticultural society, WI, whist club & parties etc. Charity is responsible for maintenance of the hall.

Grants to individuals and organisations and sponsoring research in appreciation of any matters of historic, artisitic, architectural, aesthetic or scientific interests; promotion of study and appreciation of agriculture,horticulture,siviculture, and land and estate management, ecology, conservation, flora and fauna, study of buildings of natural, historic and architectural.

The GCRI Trust promotes scientific research & education on cultivation of glasshouse crops/mushrooms/bulbs etc. provides small travel grants to researchers involved in British horticulture and publishes technical reports of new/interesting items of potential value to UK horticulture. They sponsor student scholarships for related courses and a biennial seminar on international future trends.
