Leisure Charities That specialise in Outdoor pursuits

We run six units, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, from our Scout Hut in Mitcham. The children attend weekly meetings where they work towards badges which help to make them aware of their environment and to care for others. Camping and fund-raising are among the many activities in which the children are involved.

To advance the education of the public, including children, young people and adults, in the subject of climbing and walking.

Provide a residential resource, Boarshurst Centre, for groups wishing to partake in educational, recreational (outdoor pursuits) in the Saddleworth Area. The Centre is run through a sister charity Saddleworth Outdoor Pursuits Association (702185).Very occassionally, provide small educational grants

1. Development of mountain biking and mountain biking facilities in the Kielder Forest and Water area as primary cosultants to the Forestry Commission.2. Promotion of healthy outdoor activity for all age groups.3. Organising events to raise funds for ourselves and local charities4. To offer opportunities to be involved in the development of the sport5. To encourage visitors to the area

WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE CREATIVE PLAY OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND YOUNG VOLUNTEERS CONTINUE TO BE THE DRIVING FORCE. COUNTRYSIDE AND SEA SIDE VISITS, OVER NIGHT CAMPING AND RESIDENTIAL ACTIVITY HAVE BEEN HUGELY BENEFICIAL TO PROMOTING HEALTH AND WELL BEING AND WE CONTINUE TO PROMOTE INCLUSIVE WORK SENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL CHILD OR YOUNG PERSON.

Scouting including outdoor activities, camping etc.

Guiding offers a chance to explore, to try out a wide variety of and activities and learn a range of skills; anything from outdoor pursuits, like walking, camping, abseiling and canoeing,to working with computers, time management and team building. With worldwide links, there is the opportunity to meet and work with people from other countries, either by travelling abroad or welcoming visitors.

Healthy Life Cycles, Bradford aims to improve the health and well-being of people, living in Bradford District.We provide opportunities for participants to develop new skills and confidence which enables them to enjoy cycling, outdoor activities, creative arts, sport and other recreational activities on a regular basis. We also provide accredited leadership and volunteering opportunities.

Providing accommodation for children from under deprived areas whilst they are engaged in outdoor pursuits.

Researching barriers that face young people accessing education and creating programmes using outdoor education to give young people the tools to overcome the identified barriers.

The Discovery Society is a Charitable Organisation attached to an 11-18 comprehensive Secondary School with the purpose of encouraging exploration and research. This includes supporting Duke of Edinburgh Award activities, Crest Award activities, participation in Operation Wallacea and organising programmes of visiting lecturers. Relevant opportunities and research partners are continually sought.

The advancement of the education of children, young people and the community in and around Worcestershire through promoting and enhancing the provision of outdoor education. 22 schools, (High, Primary, Special and one local park) have been mapped for orienteering and laminated maps prepared for each site along with staff training. Our current emphasis is on developing disabled access to sailing.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for canoeing and kayaking within England and Wales

The aim is to award small financial help to young people under 21 who suffer financial hardship which would prevent them from pursuing a wish in the field of outdoor activities. This could include mountain walking, canoeing etc for themselves or for joining in activities such as DOE, Operation Raleighetc

The main activities are to a) support the school events by providing volunteer helpers, e.g. in providing refreshments at school eventsb) organise events to raise money in order to provide additional equipment, e.g. camping equipment for Duke of Edinburgh activities, kits for school sports teams

Plan B is a national charity which aims to raise awareness, provide education and promote technology to improve safety planning in outdoor activities.Our projects target safety planning issues in outdoor activities including correct procedures and best practice, being prepared, campaigning for changes to existing legislation and educating members of the public.

The principal object of the charity is to raise funds for supporting the Jordan River Village whose mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish and Arab children, in Israel and in the neighbouring countries, suffering from serious illness and life-threatening conditions by creating free, fun filled, memorable, empowering, medically sound and safe camping exercises.

Proviging support funding to support individuals to access activities through the Adur Outdoor Activities Centre and rasie money for equipment to support those activities.

Organises camping holidays, for children & teenagers.

We provide a building that can be used for accommodation by groups of young people led by suitably qualified adults to undertake, education/training in field studies and outdoor activities.

CHRISTIAN CAMPING SITE

To promote health awareness issues , and well being purposes via seminars, talks, outdoor activities , and social integration, sports. for persons of all ages living in England and Wales and for the relief of persons who are sick, disabled. Provide training to young people in the Maidenhead, Taplow & Burnham area based on the principals of the Royal Navy. Subjects covered include rowing, canoeing, cookery, mechanical & electrical engineering, communications, various sports and many competitions.

Girls work through a programme, which has been designed to further the girls social and development skills, along with outdoor activities and residential experiences.
