We collect money from mainly within our membership, by circulation of a regular charity box, raffles and charity evenings. This money is used to support local charities and needy causes. Some of this money is also given to our Grand Charity for donation around the world to disaster areas for instance (Tsunami being one). We also support the needy widows of our past members and those in distress

THE CLUB OPERATES IN THE NORTHALLERTON, THIRSK AND BEDALE AREA. THE CLUB SUPPORTS WORTHY CAUSES AND CHARITIES IN THE LOCAL AREA AND LIONS CHARITIES INTERNATIONALLY AND NATIONALLY. THE CLUB MEMBERS WORK WITHOUT REWARD, ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DISCUSS POLITICS OR RELIGION. THE AIMS ARE THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN AID AND DISASTER RELIEF.

Humanitarian Aid. RELIEF: supply,food, medicines and equipment ,tarpaulins, blankets,dig wells and pit latrines. SERVICES: From time to time doctors and other health professionals,teachers,sports coaching, sports peace initiatives. DEVELOPMENT: agricultural projects, teaching skills e.g.English,baking,sewing,hairdressing, soap and detergent making.

Fund raising for the Rotary Club of Brixham Trust Fund, the proceeds of which are donated to worthy local causes, Rotary causes both in the U.K. and Internationally and disaster appeals.

The charity supports a variety of charitable activities, projects and organisations locally, nationally and internationally. The trustees respond where possible to appeals following international disasters. Appeals coordinated by Rotary International/The Rotary Foundation and to appeals from local charities helping the young, the old and the sick/disabled.

For the benefit and assistance of children in St Wilfrid's who are disadvantaged due to family circumstances enabling them to take part in trips, activities. We also reach out to those less foutunate in our own country and the wider world, i.e hospices, disasters abroad etc.

To enhance community cohesion and empower community members by way of, sharing information that is beneficial to us as a community, engaging members in training, education, and health, and signposting them to vital services. We also operate in Sierra Leone as a charity, we promote and facilitate education and training; we also provide relief to victims in times of man-made or natural disaster

Supported Bangladeshi victims off the disaster, Provided blankets,hygenic washes, water tablets. The Phillipines earth quake provided blankets, medicine and shelter boxe. Provided a water tank for Kashmir school and we are still providing help for the schools in Kenya.

We also aim to promote any charitable proposal for the benefit of the public, in particular people of Multi Cultural Community. Another aim is to promote relief of poverty and distress in any part of the world including those people in need as a result of natural disaster.We also help children of all ages living in a deprived area with inadequate facilities .

The Charity's objects are for the benefit of the disadvantaged, victims of disaster by flood, cyclone and people effected by war anywhere in the world particularly people of Bangladesh who are in hardship by:Relieving poverty, sickness and distress as a result of floods, cyclones and natural calamities by providing monetary support and where necessary by providing physical support.Improving

Members (often supported by friends and relatives) actively volunteer time, energy and expertese to organise, and ensure the success of, projects and fundraising activities. Supporting a wide range of local, national and international causes, in the process, many hundreds (if not thousands) of people receive help in the face of poverty, illness or illiteracy... disaster, disease or destitution.

Collections in Tavistock at Christmas, at Goose Fair annually, most years a Golf tournament at Tavistock Golf Club in May.The Shelterbox Trust is supported, there is an annual dinner for senior citizens,supporting dementia campaign,organising "Youth Speaks" for local schools etc, help afforded when possible to local good causes and overseas disasters.
