General charitable activities

DONATIONS TO REGISTERED CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY bODIES

The Rowena Lodge 3180 Benevolent Fund supports Lodge members, Lodge widows and family members in cases of ill health or financial hardship. In the wider community, grants are made for local charities in the Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight areas, for hospices, cancer care and adults and children with learning difficulties. The education of children from deprived backgrounds is also supported.

Provides support to appropriate individuals

The Benevolent Fund receives income through donations from YMCA colleagues and interest on investment. It provides financial support to YMCA staff, present or retired, on approved requests as determined by the Trustees of the Fund.

Raise money and give to good causes.

Provide assistance and advice to retired and former mineworkers from Lynemouth Colliery.

The charity organises an annual football cup competition between teams in and around the Potters Bar area. The competition is by invitation only and all teams are encouraged to raise funds for the Charity. The final is held at Potters Bar Town Football Club.

The London Regiment continues to promote and build funds which generates monies for its troops Welfare and Benevolence, particularly for those personnel and families, who are currently serving on mobilised operational service.We are actively raising funds by charitable means promoting sponsorship in such activities as Marathons, Golf Competitions, Expeditions and General Fund Raising.
