We provide a meeting place once a week (on a Wednesday) for members to enjoy activities, socialising, entertainment, a meal and refreshments. We follow up if anyone fails to attend to make sure they are alright and provide help if they need it.

The Friends of the Dales provides social activities for families and students at school and any income is used to purchase items for the beenfit of the whole school.

The group is a non-profit organisation with charitable aims.It brings families (including siblings) with children who have additional needs together to socialise in a safe, secure & supportive environment.The group allows a platform for parents to support other parents and carers with help on advice and support on emotional, social and welfare issues around having a child with additional needs.

The Franche Riding Group supports a group of local children with a wide range of disabilities to go horse riding.Horse riding offers these special children an opportunity for enjoyment, challenge, friendship, laughter, achievement, independence and confidence.

Community meetings and social activities

Grangetown Millennium Trust is responsible for a green area in the centre of Grangetown, Redcar & Cleveland. The main activities undertaken on the Green are community events that promote social inclusion, environmental learning for local schools and informal play activities for young children.

SNAC aims to provide opportunities for children, young people and others who have physical and/or learning difficulties. This is achieved by the provision of programmes of recreation, educational and social activities, outings and events. We encourage family members, along with the extended family, to join in these activities. This gives parents and carers the chance to network with others people.

Online support and friendship, with advice if needed on all matters to parenting an autistic child.

Education in relation to healthy living and keeping mentally and physically fit. For example running trips to London or Jewellery making.

SSCF has forged a bond with a small village community in Swaziland. We aim to help support the local primary school by providing basic learning tools and equipment. A library has been set up and stocked,a play-pump installed to provide clean water for the school and pit latrines and hand washing facilities are in place.Future plans include setting up of vegetable plots and small animal husbandry.
